Doctors don’t do that anymore because it’s not a reliable test; they just do blood work now.
If your doctor still does this, it’s probably for nefarious reasons.
Do what? I thought this was a colonoscopy joke, and those are still important.
The joke is about prostate exams.
I knew I couldn’t trust that bastard
Your first clue should have been when he had both hands on your shoulders.
I didn’t understand the camera in the corner either
Damn it if he doesn’t have a delicate touch, though.
When am I supposed to go get my butt fingered? 40 or 50? 🤔
They just make you shit in a box unless there’s a concern these days
Aww cmon! That was the one good thing I was looking forward to! 😩
My doctor told me I can choose!
Use the thumb
What if I want more than one?
Suppose you could try asking nicely
There are blood exams that replace both. There have been for years.
Can it be like an Amazon box? I have a few of those
They made me do it 2 years ago. I’m 42.
I already had a stroke before 45. Doctors ain’t got nothin on me.
Try-hard.
Cancer at 42 over here.
You win this round.
Who else do we have here?I had cancer at 40.
Had.
Diagnosed with Crohn’s at 32? It’s not fatal but the rest of my life is going to be pretty shitty and my family has some sort of Dorian Grey deal where we just don’t die.
- Never no nothing. When it’s my turn I’ll probably get everything all at once. 😔
I’ve dark souls dodge rolled an entire series of physical and mental maladies from both sides of my family and I’m afraid they’re all going to hit me like a sack of bricks when I turn 40
I went the other day about all the hard lumps in my limbs and they’re just stupid fatty lipomas because I’m never going to be young again.
What is this referring to? I had my yearly physical, already.
are you 40-45
have you had your:
- prostate examination
- colonoscopy
- thyroid checked TSH T4 T3
- white BC checks (cancer)
- blood pressure screening
- cholesterol screening
- fiber liver scan
- bloodsugar A1C test
- skin cancer screening
no? then you better. by the time you’re in your 50s, having the results of those tests could be the difference between living until you’re 60 or 90.
getting results sets a baseline result of where you should be and makes it easier for your physician to make decisions on your health later.
Some of these test you should do far earlier. I had a full check-up at 30 to decide when we should start regular checkups. My doctor said 40 is fine but we still check a lot of stuff once a year (full bloodwork including B12 and skin cancer screening).
The earlier you catch something the better.
could be the difference between living until you’re 60 or 90.
Sweet, we get to choose?
I mean, it’s a choice that can be made pretty much any time.
I just do what the physician recommends at my annual physical. Usually, it’s just bloodwork.
Aren’t regular colonoscopies a 50+ thing?
I believe the recommendation has moved to 45 because the increase in colon cancer
Not here in Germany. 50 is when you’re supposed to get your first one. Just read a pamphlet from my health insurance about what kind of screening checks they pay for.
Serve time, doc?
