Most (all?) fruit sold in American grocers has an assigned code for ringing up at the register. Bananas is the only one I remember anymore, but it’s 4011. Not sure if it’s a global standard.
It is the PLU code used for bananas in grocery stores. The PLU code is the code the cashier punches in before weighing the produce to get the correct price.

Idk about register code, but if you weigh them yourself, bananas are #1 in at least 2 chains here
