That is a scary bear … I ran into one like that in late summer here in northern Ontario and it was about that size. She had two cubs with her and if I wasn’t in my truck, I would probably be dead. She spread her forelimbs like that, stomped the ground, all the hair on her back was on end, spit was spraying out of her mouth and she roared at me. She stomped / ran towards me and I felt like I was facing off with Godzilla.
It was so intimidating sitting inside my truck, I wanted to crawl through my seat and run away. I did a uturn, and drove away as fast as I could fearing for my life … I knew I was safe, her appearance just didn’t make me feel like it.
