Our company has a policy that if you’re sick for 2 days or more, you have to have a doctors note to return. So faking sick comes with a price tag for me. Also, any time I’ve ever joked about being sick, I actually end up sick. I’ll just call around and get someone to cover for me, then tell my supervisor I’m taking a personal day instead of earning some bad karma.
Just getting a doctor’s note costs something in the US? Whenever I need a note I call my GP and ask the receptionist to write me one. The doctor doesn’t even do anything except sign the paper that the receptionist prints out! Charging for that seems crazy

I don’t think they mean an actual price
bad karma for being sick?
Places I’ve worked if you’re sick for more than 2 weeks (accumulated) in the calendar year you were fired.
How is this legal?
You can be fired for the colour of your shirt. So it’s not that surprising.
Oh, okay, it’s the US, makes sense now.
Lol, that was my thinking. That’d be super illegal here.
In Australia you can get a doctors note, legit, for $20 online
We used have that until some dumbass in our company fucked up our insurance plan. $20 for total telecare, it was awesome.
Doesn’t taking a ‘personal day’ cut into your days of annual leave you have?
Don’t sick days?
Are you asking if I don’t take sick days, or suggesting I don’t take (fake) sick days?
