    A word of advice. Either compliment them back or better simply say Thank you. Thank you is the best responce to a compliment.

      Was going to say the same.

      I used to be bad at giving and accepting compliments. Thanks or Oh, thank you. That’s my goto response.

      Sometimes, depending on the compliment, I might tell a story about the thing I’m being complimented on.

      You’re a good dancer.

      Oh thanks! I started practicing in my 20s but I didn’t learn to let go and really enjoy it until my 40s.

      It was hammered into me during childhood that thank you is the only polite response to a compliment.

      I still think it’s rude not to say it. And I absolutely hate it when people say “I know.”
