Very ambitious, hope something comes of it. The focus on enhancing (?) compatibility between Lineage and the device isn’t what I expected.

Oh even better could turn it into an art calendar
Can you turn off the stock photos?
Of course. The referendum. Yes I agree of course.
Wow, Obama’s political instincts are as sharp as ever. Can’t think of anyone more charismatic and respected than Governor Newsom 🤗
Let’s assume top executives at Reddit are worried about Lemmy
I would be more interested in some theories about why that is possible. The feds have been proactive here, with private intelligence contractors advertising their ability to bore into every nook and cranny of social media, specifically mentioning the fediverse. Open source is under control by nature of the management of the time economy of programmers by capital. There is never enough time to keep up with what people need to be paid to do to live in the hours leftover afterwards they need to cook and clean and hypothetically woo their beloved
So far all I have seen them say is that the new device meets their requirements. Considering that this company has a lot of power over them I would be very tight-lipped about details in case they start throwing curveballs
You clearly don’t understand how organizational hierarchies work. In his position as ambassador he has zero leverage on military strategy, as he did in his military position. Why do you think he was removed from decisionmaking and the country itself?
XMPP, but also Delta Chat! The Webxdc apps for Delta work in XMPP client Cheogram despite there being no cross-compatibility between the networks. It can access ordinary email servers so long as they were not set up maliciously (Apple, M$, Gmail, etc). It can do a couple things XMPP cannot, but it’s not suitable for anyone outside close friends and family. I basically only use it for email, automation, and other personal matters. XMPP is for general use and can replace Discord. The Movim project looks very cool they have a community here also join their XMPP chat. Cheogram services can connect to the regular phone network.
It is a good implementation of RPG mechanics. The worldbuilding setpieces were fun to engage with. The writing is insufferable.
Ask in the Sharkey Discord (sorry that’s the only place they are) if any better forks have arisen than Sharkey yet. They’ll be frank
What exactly have these members of Israeli parliament ever done other than try to display moral superiority while living the same as the rest?
Which fork?
They are doing fine, they maintain a large reserve, 3 times larger reserves of diesel and crude, 22% of refineries sit idle normally, and the drone attacks penetrating are causing inconsistent damage, at most shutting places down for a week or two. Gas tank explosions look big, but it’s apparently not hard to fix. Who knew refineries planned for fuel accidents? I digress. Friend of mine just did a detailed breakdown of what exactly the damage being done to Russia’s gasoline refinement is, what the reserves are, and what escalation options Russia has postponed until now. You should be concerned about the ability to keep trading blows like this. I know you love watching Ukraine getting fucked up, but I hate seeing good infrastructure go to waste. They waited to start hitting gas infrastructure until January, remember that. There was a real hope the rail and pipelines might keep flowing to Europe.
D*sco Elys*um
Because everything is about me and I make decisions based on how much I love money so I buy the cheapest bulk bin chocolate chips unless restrained by the Macro Gods
Not healthy!!! You can defuse this macro bomb only by using low sugar chocolate and powder pb. Still a fancy banana
Hey, I don’t speak for anyone here, but this isn’t a problem. Decentralization is a means to an end, not a desirable state in and of itself. Federated networks being separate from each other is fine. I feel this has been a critical misunderstanding among advocates of open source social media.
Honestly, best experiences I have had on ActivityPub were replacements for a group chat of 40-200 persons, not an attempted replacement for Twitter. (Also crucially not on a Mastodon fork but stuff like Akkoma.)
Since this app is clearly for some people a replacement for the general mechanics of websites like Stack Overflow, HN, and Reddit, and for other people meant to be a direct fork of specific Reddit communities, it makes sense to me that the networks would diverge completely, though it seems it hasn’t happened yet.
What really kept me from using Lemmy is the poor integration with Mastodon. It’s not a UI thing. Mbin and Kbin were a step in the wrong direction by furthrt splitting the UI between two types of posts that are the same under the hood
Virtualization makes it a lot easier to work in different environments
