I would absolutely vote Republican if they were just a bit to the left on abortions, education, and unions. Actually unions and teamsters would totally support Republicans if they weren’t openly hostile to them.
Right now they’re just different flavors of big government endlessly growing and I really think some libertarians need some wins to shake them up.

People seem to think they’re supposed to somehow compensate for legislators doing exactly what they were elected to accomplish - to say “fuck you” to the other party, as evidenced by people saying they could never vote for anyone from that party no matter how corrupt the politicians from their own party (totally a New York and California thing at least)
I’m really happy to see this: The pushing of conservatives off silicon-valley platforms is magnifying the polarization in America because people went from algorithmic filter bubbles to true information bubbles. The Internet is very much bifurcated into conservative and liberal echo chambers. It’s a small step but it’s a step.

I’m not an Aussie and I’m not following this in particular, but from what I’ve seen that’s how bad ideas work: you don’t want to start a dialogue where the noes point out all the flaws in your ideas. In the US the extreme of this is legislation passed in a specially coordinated session at midnight with an absolute minimum of debate.
With that said, why the hell does a budgeted program belong in a constitution and not in a regular legislated budget? And why the hell does one specific group need specific recognition defined at the level of a constitution, as opposed to broad rules changed in such a way that their specific exclusion is forbidden with a catch all that also benefits other minorities?
I think one key difference is that Israel has compulsory service for everyone. Like if in the 1770s the Torrey soldiers on leave held a music festival and they all got gunned down, I’m fairly certain the history books would not change substantially. It’s abhorrent, but if you were in the same situation - occupation by some analogous group to wherever you live who have overwhelming military superiority - would you give up your Identity and assimilate, or try to make them hurt? I’m absolutely NOT saying Palestinians are the good guys, I’m just saying I understand where they’re coming from.
You are correct. YouTube is tricky for several reasons, and hard to prosecute because the true monopoly is discovery (because everyone uses it).
Content can be consumed anywhere, you can follow some niche creator on Patreon, but YouTube is realistically the only place you’ll discover them.
YouTube chooses to demonetize and outright ban perfectly legal and normal content that happens to disagree with their politics. On it’s face this is okay, they’re a private company after all, but the insidious thing is that entire subjects may as will not exist for you know because YouTube bans them.

Because we’ve done a bad job of reconciling everything popular culture tells you it means to be a man or manly or sexually attractive with everything popular culture also says is outdated or wrong or cringe or even which you’ll be ostracized or even punished. Also the latter is a moving target while the former is not. It’s not surprising they choose to listen to non-conflicting voices, and it’s lazy to just blame Republicans as if there’s nothing for the left to learn from and improve on other than ways to beat Republicans.
Except Kissinger left politics decades ago. There’s a HUGE list of senators and house reps who are ancient and utterly out of touch but keep getting reelected because they live in one-party states. The real problem is places where a single party keeps winning, if every district were a battleground you’d see candidates working hard to justify their existence.
People keep saying this. They’ve been saying this for decades. Other countries keep having bigger problems first, I think it’s just because you see all of America’s dirty laundry while virtually all other countries governments take more steps to control the flow of information.
The ones who actually run for office are less fascist and more incapable of actually running anything.
