I used to dislike Lewis because he was on the way to beating my favourite, Schumacher. But yeah, I think he’s even better 😢

Lewis has a 58% podium record for races he’s started, even higher than that for races he’s finished (obviously).

He’s also been on the podium for 6% of all F1 races ever.

That’s insane considering he was born 35 years after the first one, and then took another 22 years of growing up before he got his F1 seat.

These kind of statistics are always scewed by the fact that there were only 250 races in the first 20 years of F1 while 400 races in the last 20 years. But impressive either way.

That’s interesting can you share more? I think we’re having what 24 circuits plus ? Sprints this year, vs perhaps 10 circuits back in the 80s? What about the 50s or whenever was the first race?

And what a drive to do it with, as well. I admit I’ve been questioning whether he still had the same edge anymore over the past few years, but he’s really been on it ever since Mercedes unfucked their car. Was great to see him win again, and another great performance today.

It was great seeing his smooth driving holding back Verstappen style that at times seemed faster but clumsier
