I haven’t logged in since BaconReader shut down. I’ve gone over to lurk a little, but each time I do and drop into the comments, I last maybe 5 minutes and close it.
That said, the holier-than-thou crowd is becoming more vocal here, and it’s a bummer.
Likewise.
I haven’t contributed to Reddit since Steve said that he wants Reddit to be like twitter….shortly before the API death
Now I only use Reddit for google tech support and I use the internet archive redirect plugin.
This is such a stupid decision. If people want a Twitter experience they’ll join and use Twitter. Reddit is successful because it’s reddit. Changing it to not be reddit just means they’re moving against the current that pushed them to success. Facebook did the same thing, trying to make their website like TikTok and now everyone hates it. People weren’t on Facebook to get a TikTok experience, they were there to connect with friends and family. Now that Zuckerfuck has made it impossible to connect with friends and family I have zero reason to visit his crappy website anymore.
The commies with no sense of the historical irony of said label were here before I arrived. I’d say they were teenagers afflicted with black and white thinking but maybe that is not the case.
Eh not even that, it’s more of the “my thinking is right and if you disagree with any element of my ideology, you’re a bigot/fascist/etc”. When I first got here, conversations were pretty pleasant and opposing ideological conversations were welcome, but it’s shifted pretty quickly into hivemind/groupthink.
No you’re pretty spot-on. I would also lump in troll propagandist to the mix. There are quite a lot of communist on Lemmy who are a little more sophisticated than a teenager.
