I think Microsoft intentionally renames those every two years just to make sure every permutation of [Office, 365, Professional, Microsoft, Business] is used at least once to describe the same product.
I don’t think Lync was ever sold as “for business”, the “for business” part came when Microsoft renamed it to “Skype for business”.
