It doesn’t matter. By midterms they will put a lot of ice agents near voting stations, and end mail vote. So if you look liberal they will say you look foreign and hold you until the end of elections. Other people will see this and be afraid to go and vote.

I think popularity remains relevant regardless of how much democratic backsliding happens. Whether popular will expresses itself through an election or some other means people will find an outlet.

I think the reason their authoritarian plan is so fast is because, like in Russia or China, they want to have such deep propaganda oversight over the media landscape by 2028 and potentially November 2026 that they will have suppressed most critical press. And they are moving to be able to revoke citizenship at will (if there’s no birthright citizenship, and no due process, how many of us are provably citizens? Will it even matter at that point?).

People are forgetting life and standards before Trump already. And if we’re living in fear of being kidnapped and deported, that’s a strong counterweight to revolt. I think popular will can actually be suppressed for a long time.

Even China sometimes has to backtrack when they make decisions which don’t resonate with the people. Even dictators need some semblance of support among the public.

Ironically to this being a shitfest of a regime i have always loathed how elections are a popularity contest.

Good social and connecting skills can be important but they will never be more important than a healthy intelligence and a passion to simply do good, build a good society for all.

Yep. And now imagine what will happen when he drops out, which he will relatively soon because of mental and physical decline.

Well, they gathered together all of the most awful people they could find. Unsurprising that they’re not popular. It’s why they have to resort to things like political theater and culture wars to win elections.

Dem voters : ‘oh, we’re winning? Then lemme just find another excuse to sit it out again. My favorite sitcom is on, the other voters got this!’

Really misleading news source. That poll ia so flawed.

I hate Donald Shitler but the reality is his approval rating is at about 43-52% based on accurate polls.

Spreading false information doesn’t help us.

Yup. The needle hasn’t moved from around 40-45% support since he took office in pretty much all the polls. Sooo many Trumpers in the country around me and they’re still cheering him on with brass bands. Hell, just drove by a bunch of them the other day holding a ‘Thank You Kennedy!’ cheerfest.

This is just a copium article for us people on the left.
