    But… why?

The whole point is that the profiles are real people to network with professionally. The second people know that a profile might be a corporate bot, I feel like the site is done.

Besides, just have a python script that generates generic guy names and picks 10 random IT/ business skills, plus a 30% chance to add “synergy”, “go getter”, or “team-oriented”, and you’ll have recreated the same effect as your LLM, and saved yourself 40 million.

The AI tool that I saw on there was to give users advice on “how to make your profile better”. The tips were generic garbage, so maybe after they train the AI on member profiles, the tips can be even more generic garbage.

For when you really want to blend into the crowd and not be bothered by possible employers or recruiters. Fuck yeah, I might do that then.

The true hack to get noticed by recruiters is to just not update your profile for years at a time. Not sure why they keep contacting me, there hasn’t been anything new on my profile for years. Hell, Im not sure I’m old enough to drink in the profile picture.

No, the point of the entire site is to generate revenue. They’ve been pushing subscription based AI to “help” with profile writing for a while. GenAI content is also supposed to be good for juicing engagement numbers to show to advertisers.

I agree with you that it probably won’t work and the whole thing will degenerate into shrimp Jesus and bots replying to bots, but that’s the line of thinking. They don’t give a fuck about the quality of the service.

Same techbro hegemony as Meta’s “Facebook AI Friends” they are trying to roll out.

Is “synergy” back in fashion now? It seemed to go away for at least a decade.

First off, you’re forgetting the baseline for critical thinking in the states these days. The site is essentially too big to fail. We’re stuck with it awhile.
