Taking control of a shipping container, opening all of pagers and adding some explosives is obvious and not too hard for people with that power.

Replacing all the chips, or hacking their firmware, is different, and is what I’m asking about.

Most bombs that use a phone as the trigger use the speaker for example. But in these pagers that would have already set off loads.

Well yes but then you’d have to send all those messages, not too hard for a big organisation, but to make a specific message trigger it you would have to do something to the chips on it. And that’s what I’m wondering.

I wonder about the technical part of this.

Was it timer based?

Was it based upon which number sent a message?

A lot of the ideas I have would require a huge technical operation, instead of the “just added explosives” angle.

Everything can be better, but if you take away something that people like, you kind become responsible for the result. Imagine taking the beer away from somebody enjoying some beer, what’s the chance that you’ll get your ass kicked? But what happens when a cop takes away the drug of a drug user? Most people just give up, lose their drugs, get fined, and possibly even jailed. It’s safe to say that most drug users think your morals are far worse.

I would even say that you are the one enabling an oppressive force, while cartels just leave us the fuck alone.

I set it up earlier and it felt like a highschool project. The AiO bloat, the GUI, lots of little bugs everywhere… The service didn’t even stop when I ran i2p stop.

From my experience, most of them are good. They can’t really go around fucking people up or they get fucked up themselves. I even know some people that had problems and bought from different dealers, because the dealers wouldn’t sell them that much if they only went to them.

Opiod dealers are a different kind, but most of them are opiod users too, so it’s hard to judge them. I’m not even sure I still consider opiods to be drugs.

Some bloat is marked as system app and can’t be removed that way.

Go do some research before claiming such things. It has been a thing for many many years. And as far as I know, they simply reinforced their ruling on bans. My argument already existed for many years, but is now even more true.

Hackers buy and sell accounts for a few euros. On top of their €20/month cheats this is nothing. Most people getting VAC bans are the stupid ones trying out free hacks. Which mostly are kids. Who would have thought?

VAC is meaningless for the real hackers. And an account being used for hackers is easily spotted compared to an account from a parent sharing it to their kid. You keep asking for my solution, but my solutions are so obvious it would take a stupid person to not think of them. Hey here’s one: “investigate the main accounts manually”. I thought such ideas would not require a triple digit IQ to be considered obvious.

They already had family sharing where a ban upon the main account could have been contested. You could at least ask them to consider the age or stupidity of the person or family member using your library.

And force Valve to ruin it for the rest of us.

Valve has a stupid rule here which should be revised and improved for actual families, instead of trying to babyproof the whole goddamn thing. Parents shouldn’t have to babysit their kid when it comes to videogames. It’s actually bad parent and many teenagers would even choose to cheat just to rebel.
