  • Not really a tourist but…

Netherlands, Ireland, and denmark on par for restaurants and bar pricing. Good sourcing is ubiquitously higher quality. Norway expensive restaurants and bars. In general US has better small/micro-breweries.

In EU, women don’t seem as wary of being alone in public or in the presence of masc presenting people. People seem to care less how others present themselves(they’re not offended by eccentric styles). I feel safer in general. America has a bunch of creeps who care that your shirt is pink or your hair is too long for a good Christian.

Healthcare exists. That’s $3k-$10k+ you don’t have to worry about every year.

Public transit exists. Like good public transit. The best systems in the US are garbage in comparison with the exception maybe of NYC. Though US public transit tends to be cheaper.

Can’t speak for Mediterranean or eastern Europe.

  • You could have a decent thought here if it weren’t for his response to BLM movement, trying to call in the national guard to crowd control with live ammo, the border and war crimes, as well his assault on the court system and attack on reproductive/women’s rights. That among many other things no one remembers. The sheer volume of trauma he’s generated in the world easily negates any sympathy in my mind.

As a human he deserves medical and psychological treatment like anyone else as that’s a human right imo. One which he’s happy to ignore for others. By no means would i ever feel a shred of sympathy for the fleshpile.

Complex PTSD needs to be in the DSM…

  • Not worth it in terms of budget. Both sides will be using cpu rather comparably. Linux side will def be using more gpu. I also can’t justify purchasing two computers with the company. The hardware is kind of a bonus from them and my personal budget needs to go elsewhere but I’m free to use/modify the computer for personal use as long as i continue to deliver on work. The company is (very) small enough i can get this kind of benefit every very long ince in a while😁

I think the consensus in this thread is that my issue was centered around using a partitioned drive for both instead of separate drives which is my current plan. If things still get whacky I’ll try stronger approaches.

My history is specifically windows attacking linux/bootloader so i’m not concerned I’ll be risking any work stuff as long as they aren’t futzing with each other’s storage.

I also have full control over windows group policies (admin in general) so i can really change it to my liking and minimize windows damage from the software side. There’s lots of software solutions for issues around storage use.

Furthermore, my old pc is going to be a home sync server so it will handle shared data to avoid the need to fish through the opposed drive.
