March 25 is a little late if the concept for 26 is in a fundamental direction he thinks is crap, its like not impossible but they would be unlikely to hit the first race with a class leading car. I guess Aston could save up budget, wind tunnel time, and super computer runs until he starts then try and run faster than everyone else. One things for sure, going to be exciting to see the order in 26 as this is now going to be a major shake up.
Let’s say Newey develops another class leading car, same sort of advantage over the rest of the field as his best, does Senior implement team orders to benefit Junior so he can win the title? Or even worse, does he bring someone like Mazspin in who Lance cab beat, Lance isn’t good, but hes way better than Mazspin. Or do we see a worse mauling than Checo vs. Max? Or Lewis vs. Hekki?
Its a cliche but they also promise easy answers to hard questions, blame others for problems they caused themselves or at least did nothing to get out of. The old tell 'em what they want to hear rather than what they need to hear.
If he hadn’t pitted but Lando did, highly likely Lando catches and overtakes him. Also, there is a good chance that Charles would have pitted a second time then overtook him as well. The tyre delta for both mclarens at the end to charles was huge, and the ferrari was kinder to its tyres than the mclaren.

The problem is it still needs to be 7 races in a row that lando wins and Oscar beats max, not a few. That’s a huge ask, especially when the likes of Merc or Ferrari have been stealing wins here and there and it’s highly unlikely that Max would win zero races between now and the end of the season.
Constructors should be easy for mclaren as they have two cars that score good points but drivers it’s such a gap and max isn’t dropping enough points without dnfs and other teams getting between max and lando. There are 8 races left so even allowing only one bad race for lando he needs 10 points more a race, which is max in third, just not been happening enough.
Well it would if it costs them performance and it had to be took off in a hurry, as it takes time to do a work around that doesn’t cost performance if it’s even possible without major work. Any rapid change like that is hard to deal with.
Likely they would have suggested RB have it fitted at the same time, why miss an opportunity to fuck them up?
I can’t see max losing the drivers title without the other mclaren and at least a ferrari or merc getting between lando and max for the rest of the season, the gap is still too big. I won’t rely on dnfs as red bull just don’t suffer from them in large enough numbers since the PU got sorted
The FIA denied that any team was using such a device, it’s likely a team asked if such a thing would be legal ahead of fitting it and the FIA decided to make it preemptively and explicitly illegal in the rules.
It really would have to be willful negligence from the designer, the engineer and the insurance company not to have the keel and mast balanced so that if it gets knocked down even to the point the mast touches the water it will self right as long as the boat does not take on water. It’s the whole point of a keel on modern sailboats, retracting or not.
On a boat this valuable the insurance company would want underwritten engineer reports about the seaworthiness of the boat and will only insure you for pre agreed areas based on said report. It might not be insured but with a commercial crew that is highly unlikely.
If the keel was up for shallow draft or it fell off, this happened to a number of oyster yachts a while ago so its not that unusual, then they would be fucked. If it took on water in large quantities so that the bilge pumps could not cope, they would be fucked. However it should be unlikely that the windows are open during a storm with commercial crew onboard.
My guess is that the keel either part or all of it came off, that will fuck you even in calm seas.
This is about some combination of cost to replace Perez after resigning vs. choosing a teammate Max can live with.
No way Checo is better than Carlos and they could have signed Carlos for next year without a cost to boot Checo didn’t, the only reason for that is Max would get upset and it’s not that he loves Checo, certainly not after that Monaco.
Just seems high risk with Max being offered all sorts elsewhere and RB falling off their stellar advantage.

If he left at the end of this season who on earth would Red Bull sign as nobody of consequence is available? It would end up being KMag and Checo at this point.
They would be left trying to buy someone out of their contract, very expensive and far from certain to work.
Suspect the cost of replacing Checo with ending his contract and his sponsorships this early was too expensive even if it costs them the extra money that 1st place in the constructors would bring. Would not surprise me if they have some performance clauses that means they can bin Checo off for cheap by the end of the year if he carries on under performing.
Also suspect that they know who they want next year as well as Carlos choosing to sign for Williams on the same day cannot be a coincidence. They have to be really sure that Max isn’t going to Merc next year now as none of the other available options would be even a close replacement for Max.
Merc not signing Max would mean Merc signing Antonelli for that second seat now as Carlos is also not available, shutting the door to Max for 26 as well as they would be unlikely to drop Antonelli or Russell once signing them unless they have an absolutely terrible 25.
Ive had mine since 2014, worked well since then and I would consider getting another one if they would just do individual radiator controls like their other UK focused competitors. I have given up expecting Google to give Nest any real money to expand in this space so I shall be moving off the Nest eco system (I have a bunch of cameras as well) when the thermostat eventually fails.
Nah he weighs noticeably less than Lewis as Lewis has always been pretty stacked for a F1 driver and Lewis put on muscle when the weight limit went up

I suspect they mucked up the driver ballast, minimum driver weight is 80kg, so if you weigh less than that the team have to add ballast. I’ve heard that they got the ballast the wrong way round between the two cars and Lewis weighs more so his ballast is less…

I am not confident that we will see as widespread competition as we have this season, as the PU is completely changing and the aero is being tweaked. I am to worried we will see one team to develop the PU with a massive advantage again, but I hope not.
