$19 billion seems high.
Alias/backup of sparky@lemmy.federate.cc, an instance I administrate. Please don’t tag/DM me here as I don’t check my inbox, send correspondence to sparky@lemmy.federate.cc instead.
$19 billion seems high.
And what does that make Android’s whole point? 😉
It does look like the admins will have to address this judging by the GitHub issue: https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3075
This has happened to a bunch of the communities I created on Lemmyworld. I’ve been trying to ask for help - have created some threads about it and tried DMing the admins - but have never gotten a reply. Not sure what recourse I have, but I get a lot of DMs from users telling me it’s broken.
They say the next GallowBoob has already been born…
Check out /c/macgaming for example - I bet https://lemmy.world/c/macgaming doesn’t work but https://lemmy.world/c/macgaming@lemmy.world does, right?
Safari is way, way more battery efficient than any other browser. I use Firefox when plugged in but Safari on the go for this reason :-)
I’m stumped, not sure what I can do without help from the admins to look into it
Appoint more moderators on your own instance.
I can’t say I’m shocked, but I am disappointed. But at the same time - Lemmy/Kbin is the answer. This is the way.
Reddit is deaddit. Long live the glorious Lemmy-Kbin Continuum.
This is an incredibly selfish, dipshit move. They’re trying to prioritise the growth of their own instance at the expense of Lemmy and the Fediverse as a whole, at a time when we should all be banded together to accept the massive influx of departing Redditors.
It’s exceptionally selfish to cut apart the community and try to promote your own instance while the Lemmyverse as a whole is experiencing a mass influx of users. This will create confusion and frustration at a time that we should be rolling out the red carpet as a community for the Reddit exodus.
No kidding! It’s a small community, but very friendly, and thus far high-quality in terms of discussions!
Wait what, seriously? This early into the Lemmy saga they cut off the two largest instances from each other? What the hell are they thinking?
I reluctantly created a bunch because I want to have those conversations. I figure with time we can always call for volunteers and appointment help as needed. I’m hopeful that moderating a board on Lemmy will require somewhat less effort than Reddit due to the friendlier atmosphere and lower volume.
It is rather disappointing, to say the least. I was reading /r/technology and there are a ton of posts to the tune of, fuck you, I just want my official Reddit app to work. It really bums me out, but I guess the silver lining is that those scabs are exactly the trash we probably don’t want on Lemmy.
My home Lemmy doesn’t seem to be able to find communities on kbin, when I search for something like !tech@kbin.social it just never resolves. :-/
I’m all-in on Lemmy and hope you all will stick around too. I blew away my Reddit account and all my post history today.
Interesting context. Thanks for sharing:
