Allman Brothers is a solid answer! 100%
This is an excellent list. I might add (just for fun) mid 70’s Deep Purple & mid 80’s Allan Holdsworth.
Noice! The first thing is definitely just artistry or musical signature. Like the way SRV played guitar or “fills” Chad Smith might play that are similar. It’s their unique relationship with their instrument.
The second/others is/are accurate. They’re definitely what OP is talkin’ 'bout!
Let’s go with: Decapitated & Bon Iver
Ohh shit, it just clicked. I tried to listen to “most played” yesterday and there were no self-titled or Toxicity tracks. I thought it was for a different reason (my own most listened at that time) I didn’t look at albums. I see now they were plainly unavailable. Hot damn.
It’s the 2nd May here in Australia and I have all albums of SOAD available on Deezer (going through a little SOAD phase right now… So fkn good!)
Like memories of yesterday…
I’ll have what this person’s having 👆🤣
The best kind of correct :D
Abab - Old Thunder; what a mood they created. Crushing. Drums are well tuned and that guitar tone is sooo distorted. Super Duper Heavy.
Akercocke are an interesting choice. I look fwd to listening to more of their efforts.
I’ma throw my hat into the ring with Undergang. Danish Death. The guitar tones are disgustingly creepy and the feel of the tracks is heavy as. Start with ‘Tvangstanker’.
I thought it was just me that thought Bleed was overrated. ObZen and Lethargica kick ass compared.
Broooo pretty with you there. When I saw them they played Dancers to a Discordant System and the walls frickn shook… And so thusly was I.
No one’s gonna touch that? Okay, neither.
Depends which acts are on tour in… Yep, Australia. So last 12 months I went to 6. Work into the mix many of the venues are on the other side of town to me (so week nights are usually off the table unless I must see; Mastodon) and that tix are often very expensive - especially for big names.
To anyone wondering… It’s Phenomenal. It’s an album.
10/10 would eat
This was not on my radar either. Again, thanks for the post (like the Bon Iver album). What do you think of this album so far?
Sweet! A new Bon Iver album to chew on. What do you think of it so far?
George Benson 1986 in Montreux. Or indeed any of those jazz guys in their day. Cobham, Davis, Hancock, Scofield, Corea… The list goes on.
