  • Right on time for the US government to lead their populace on an boogeyman hunt season by blaming anything inconvenient on an enemy state. without any evidence whatsoever… I might add.

    • unrest? Russian misinformation
    • online? Chinese bots
    • stop funding genocide? hamas opeatives
    • any criticism? people that want Trump elected

And the funny thing is everyone there eats it up like good little tools they are. But argue, US companies are not under government fingers like China and Russia. No sir, and when it’s found that they’re doing the government’s dirty work time and again behind closed doors.

“They’re conveniently just following the law, what do you expect them to do?”

  • I’m sensing some Israeli astroturfing going on. Many people are seeing Israel for what it is from since last year. In all this, Israel could use some diversion of attention.

And what better place to concentrate your efforts on other than the rise in islamophoia along with racism in current events. Help dehumanize your enemy abroad. Although the killer wasn’t even a muslim, they are still being targeted, even after the facts came out.

Seems very suspicious to me and Israel isn’t new to brigading and astroturfing. They in-fact have state-run programmes for it.

Handing it off to someone creates a whole new set of second hand responsibility, if the new maintainers go on to add something malicious.

    a la: xz backdoor

The creator was shunned until everyone figured out he had handed it off to someone else.

If someone wants to continue, they can always fork it.

  • People don’t realize how much of reddit content is made by bot farms and advertising agencies, propaganda outlets with bots to spare. Which is what’s keeping the normies entertained, not the nerds, not the niche community of a few thousand people.

People like the one you’re replying to always are so sure their echo chamber is right when reality is like complete opposite. Most people on reddit are lurkers and not terminally online people. They just want to scroll and fucking waste time. Community, subs and their mods or rules be damned.

They don’t care if the cat videos are on a banana sub. they’ll happily upvote and scroll away while the terminally online will start complaining why the post is not fit, a repost, or against the rules for 100s of time. And as always, once they leave, they think it is dead.

  • I mean I would at least pay more than they currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.

It never fails to amaze me how purposefully dense people can be. There are literal thousands of more users who will use the app for free and ignore the minor inconvenience of ads by simply ignoring it or using an adblock. Believe it or not, the universe doesn’t revolve around your personal needs. That 1 cent from a user becomes thousand with thousand users and grows thousand more if it’s actually good. But you know all the ins and out of app dev since you mention lunar program approach. 🤦‍♂️

Or better yet, how about you develop software that doesn’t just take up whateber is currentlt available RAM and power???

I mean I would at least pay a one time fee of $3.50 and expect lifetime of updates. It’s more than some currently make by serving me ads based on all the bullshit.

I agree that there are tons of shitty apps but this holier than thou attitude without any experience of their own as app developers is fucking insane. Be the change you want to see, instead of being angry at other people, all the time.
