For me it’s a little less haphazard, but I’m guessing this person has lived something of a life of privilege and is probably significantly younger than myself.

I had an ex who was arrested because a gas station employee accused him of not paying for gas after he declined the receipt. Grocery stores and department stores, I want a receipt because there’s too much bullshittery and asshattery going on at those types of places for me to go without. I want to see when Walmart charges me $5.99 instead of $3.00 like it said on the shelf and I want the money back on my card when I inevitably have to do a return. Restaurants, I want my receipt because unfortunately some of the folks who run the card will “accidentally” miskey the tip amount, and strangely it’s always in their favor.

You see a feral cat injured in the road so you rush over to see if you can help. Despite your good intentions, it delivers a deluge of deep scratches and medically significant puncture wounds from a few well-placed bites.

Perhaps you feel the cat owes you an apology since your intentions were good and you had hoped to be its friend. I would argue if you expected an apology then you were clearly delusional or willfully ignorant, either way not a good thing.

I suppose what I’m saying is, good luck on getting a sincere apology National Black Farmers Association.

My first thought as well: Those would be covered in flies, ants, and/or other bugs if I tried it around here (which is not Mexico). It makes me wonder if this photo is taken some place that doesn’t really have much in the way of bugs, as hard as that is to imagine, or if they go to great lengths to kill all the pests in the area to prevent them from taking over the tomato yield.

Same for the fish, the cycads, and the ferns. But not the unicorns.

My keyboard certainly doesn’t have throe in its dictionary. But it also doesn’t have throw. Or through. Or really any words because it doesn’t have a dictionary.

I can’t answer affirmatively. However, today there are numerous posts on Reddit about the fact that they are considering charging money to access certain subreddits. As you would expect, most of the top comments in those threads are not happy and there are numerous comments along the lines of “I wish there were Reddit alternatives” or asking if there are any.

I did not see any responses mentioning Lemmy or the Fediverse, and I looked for it. Now, to be clear, I did not read every comment and every reply in every one of those threads, so it’s possible Lemmy was mentioned and I simply didn’t see it. But it certainly wasn’t prominent in any of those threads at the time I checked.

Am I missing something? I just checked and it seems like it is currently showing:

Not sure if it’s already covered in another comment or if you are already aware, however … Depending on where in the world you live, there may be a semi-local official UPS drop off location at a store or business near you. I live outside of a very small rural town, yet there are UPS drop off options here. They even print, text, or email a receipt to confirm they’ve received it.

Still not as convenient as an at-home pick-up, but it’s something to consider if you didn’t already know.
