Or look at the logs later. Journalctl -k -f should also show more logs than dmesg when you plug it it which may be informative.

Otherwise I use parquet (orc could also work, but I never actually use it). Sometimes parquet has problems with Pandas or polars but I’ve always been able to fix it by using pyarrow

Ah definitely add some mount options to give yourself access, uid and gid would be a good place to start, I think there may be others.

How are you mounting your NTFS disk? If you’re using the mount cli as root you may need to add the uid mount option

I think the icons on NTFS mean your user does not have permitted read the bin file. I think the cue files need to have the path updated, but I’m not super familiar

It may be an issue with the bios not setting up the USB drive like grub expects… Maybe try booting with uefi if you can?

I think those symptoms mean it’s loading the first stage of grub but them grub can’t find the rest of itself

I second AsudoxDev’s idea that it may be worth using a different flash tool or a different USB drive if you can’t get it working.

No I mean read data out of the file with another program like a video player or emulator, or just open it in a text editor.

I was thinking this would test whether the problem is with reading from that NTFS partition, which the error message points to.

Or slow down a complete scan, it would take a long time to scan all likely ports on a machine stealthily, and be quite obvious if that machine is set up as a honeypot.

Lol I used to use it for that. About a year ago I tried to boot it and only 1 CPU came up and the memory was failing and before the bios crashed it was trying to boot but didn’t see the disks 😅 I looked at the board and one of the cpu socket brackets was cracked so I put it back in the shed
