Mbin support quite a lot of activitypub protocols, including PeerTube even.
Mbin also support microblogs like Mastodon, all within the same web frontend. Mbin has quite an impressive moderation tools by now, while we are still improving moderation support. Mbin has a very different user-interface, which I like much much better than Lemmy UI. Mbin also has tons of user-side options to fine-tune the UI, like Infinite scrolling, moving the menu to the left-side, different themes, page width settings, sticky navbar, and so much more! Mbin is developed by a developers who aren’t Lemmy core devs (I’m not going into more details here). Mbin has a very complete API, allowing app developers like Interstellar to develop apps around Mbin instances. Mbin is still in heavy development, we implement tons of new features, frontend improvements and bugfixes every single day/week. Mbin embraces the C4 specification for contributors, meaning that every person could become a core developer.

That is often true indeed. Especially with famous content that is also large in size. So 10GB files that everybody want to download now! You really want to go for bittorrent. That is also the reason I was trying to convince those AI people to use bittorrent to share their large models… But no… they keep using git (like hugging faces does). I give up on AI people.

It’s showing indeed the limitations of the activitypub protocol. I’m promoting decentralization, so feel free to run your own instance. Just know that it will take some time, effort and most likely some money.

Not only did he deleted the domain (records) and his github account. But also I can’t find his sponsor pages anymore on buymeacoffee.com or patreon. Meaning he removed everything.

It’s indeed very sad news. And I’m very sad to see debounced go away like this. I always get along well with him. And I don’t know why he’s gone so suddenly. 😭
