The FTC didn’t use Signal, Amazon did though for internal communications. When FTC started their investigation, Amazon quickly used the features of signal to delete all their internal communications because they were too spicy for the public and the FTC.
Ah, such a classic 2000’s improv dub from ADV films… I still have the DVD’s of this series.
Best alternative to OneDrive is NextCloud or OwnCloud.
Though you will need to setup your own server (can be just some old desktop/laptop collecting dust or a raspberry pi) to run either one, plus get your own web domain (cloudflare I recommend for getting one.)
But it is so worth it if you need cloud storage and want full control of all your files.
Let’s be honest, you see someone walking alone wearing this and holding a knife on Halloween night or anytime of the year at night, it will be pretty terrifying.
All I want from my printer/scanner is to press print, and have it not change its IP address so Windows can’t find it.
Easy fix, go into your router and setup a local static IP for your printer. Sometimes called DHCP IP reservation.
It should give a list all devices and their mac address on your network. Select your printer, then put in the current local IP the printer is using or a new local IP (setting a new local IP will require you to turn your printer off and back on after you save the changes to ensure the new local IP is handed out to the printer.)
Save changes, and you should never have to worry about the printer changing local IP’s ever again.
Union busting jackass…
Sigh We do not need American Civil War 2… Electric Boogaloo…
This is a worse sight than a guy suffering from testicular torsion.
Amazing and thank you!
More demographics will come, it takes time. That and people who are willing to break from the habits of flocking to the next big corporation built social media network for something smaller, but more meaningful.
For me, I am on my mobile 90% of the time, though I am at my desktop a lot of that time as well. But I use my desktop mostly for gaming and work purposes. My mobile is where most my entertainment and web stuff happens. ( ̄ω ̄;)
Web interfaces on mobile stink most of the time. Let’s be honest. And Reddit’s was bad. Even old.reddit.com looked bad on mobile.
My favorite 3rd party app for Reddit was Joey. And why I loved it was that it was a simple and intuitive interface that made browsing reddit fun. Like other 3rd part apps, Joey had a menu screen you opened to see your list of subscribed subreddits, but it also had tabbed subreddits where I could scroll over from one subreddit I was viewing to another. It was a really nice interface.
It also made reddit much more accessible for mobile users like myself which when compared to the atrocious 1st party reddit app… It was a night and day difference. Joey was quick, it was fast, it was intuitive, when their were bugs they were immediately fixed. Where as the official reddit app was slow, it was buggy, when 3 bugs were fixed, 12 new ones always cropped up immediately after. I never saw that with Joey.
Lemmy is kinda along these same lines. The web interface on desktop is fine, but on mobile, it stinks. So developers of all sorts including former 3rd partyreddit app developers (Sync for Reddit) are getting in on developing apps for Lemmy because they want to create a better mobile experience.
Currently I am using Jerboa since I like it the most, and it is the most feature rich at the moment. But I am testing and trying out other Lemmy apps to find any others that will be a better fit down the line.
Their is an upside to this that people are not seeing, those that choose to willfully stay on reddit, means less of Reddit’s toxicity will seeps it’s way into Lemmy or k.bin. it allows both to grow more organically and foster better relations across the fediverse. (o▽o)
People here are far nicer and it’s a joy to step into a conversation and not feel like you could be jumping into a hornets nest. (((><)))
I do admit it is annoying to see this anger people are having. But we all do feel like that after leaving a big platform that caused so much anger and vitrol. People do need their moment to get it out of their system and perhaps a thread like this is what is needed to get it out of their system before moving further into Lemmy or K.bin. ╮(︶▽︶)╭
Needs the official reddit app in App Hell. Along with several million other apps…
I only use Jerboa now. It has taken the place of my favorite reddit app, Joey. Though it is a little lacking that still requires me to go to my homepage. Usually to add new communities to my feed.
Never really used the official reddit website. old.reddit.com was just to bright, and the modern version is… Well, garbage.
I’d love to leave discord, but I know to many people that use it and will not budge on leaving. I am stuck with it.
So unless discord makes a very serious boneheaded mistake and double down on it like Reddit did… I don’t see many people leaving.
Sadly no, wish I had saved a link, I do have a screenshot though from when I was using Joey for Reddit.
