  • I personally think the company you choose to keep says a lot about you. There’s being polite with your partner’s friends and then there’s being all over someone like a bestie. It’s amazing how well her PR machine works that she gets white knighted so much, even on Lemmy. May I remind everyone that she is a billionaire and didn’t get to be one accidentally. She’s just as bad as the rest of them, she just pays people to make her seem not as threatening, and it’s clearly working based on all the free defense she gets on the internet.

She’s not your friend. Arguably, she’s Brittany Mahome’s friend.

If you’re looking for a more schlocky horror experience, give Resident Evil 8 a try! Extremely fun to play with a story that would be kinda ‘eh’ if the performances didn’t elevate it to cult-following b-movie perfection.

Subnautica would be a good game to transition from the end of summer to the beginning of fall. Spooky atmosphere where you play (almost) entirely underwater.

Crow Country came out earlier this year and definitely capitalizes on PS1 era horror games. In that vein also, Signalis is an excellent cerebral sci-fi horror.

Horror comedies are definitely a thing, but tbh I’d still consider Alan Wake 2 an outright horror even with the lighter stuff! Very spooky elements, with great writing and story crafting. Bonus points if you play Remedy’s other games for the Easter eggs

Fucking thank you. Men’s libbers (and there’s a loooooot of them on lemmy, as you can see in your downvotes) like to trot out the “men don’t report because of stigma!” line, but it’s like, my guy, women do too?? For every woman brave enough to report, there’s anywhere from 5-10 that don’t report at all due to fear/stigma.

Of course rape happens to men (mostly by other men) too. But, couple things:

    1. it’s not a competition or dick measuring contest. Rape is bad, m’kay? Regardless of gender.
    2. it’s disingenuous to say that it happens to men just as much, or more. It feels icky, like they’re shoving themselves in a victimhood narrative where they don’t belong.

  • They’re prob one of those people who refuses to get a good coat. Classic Southerner behavior, tbh. We hardly ever have a true need for good winter clothes down here, so most people don’t know how to layer properly to stay warm, so they think people living in colder climates are just freezing all the time. Because of barely having any inclimate winter weather, too, we don’t invest in much infrastructure to keep our streets clear of ice/snow, so the roads are always terrible after snow storms. People generally won’t shovel their walkways, either (even people who usually carefully tend their yards in other seasons!)

This leads to most people having a skewed perception of winter around here lmao
