Are you judging what I put in milk?
Aka a water fountain lmao.
Would you fill up your bottle at the fountain, then you should be able to juice up your phone.
Imho, it’s a bit like a water fountain. You wouldn’t ask before filling up your bottle. In both cases you as an individual are costing the business pennys.
The only place you mentioned that I personally wouldn’t do it is a store, but that’s mostly because to charge your phone you kinda have to sit by the outlet and I personally see stores as places of movement where hanging out is discouraged. You are supposed to buy something and leave.
But for doctors offices, you’re probably fine, and libraries you 100% all g.
This gif makes me want to go to war
This is a feature planned for Artemis/kmoon I think.
I’m going to take a rather controversial stance on this. I don’t see this as such a bad Thing
First of all, running a discord server, especially a large one is not easy and discord mods deserve to be paid for their time just as much as anyone else.
While I will say that I’m not a huge fan of discord’s new focus on massive servers, it’s clear that that’s what brings in the big dough for them.
If this helps discord keep the lights on, and keep small servers running that’s good for me as much as it is good for them.
Also, I’d much rather this than ads ngl
The thing is because it doesn’t federate, for all intents and purposes it’s simply a Twitter clone that just happens to be based on mastodon
Fair, however I’m still VERY skeptical of them federating in good faith
I haven’t really heard that much about this. But I am very skeptical of any claims that Facebook is actually going to fedderate in good faith.
Obviously, it’ll be up to the administrators of the different instances whether to federate or not. So we’ll see
I also wonder how big the overlap is between people who would use a federated platform and those who would willingly use anything made by Facebook.
With that said, I’ll never say never, but I find the likelihood of this taking off to be slim to none
Dear god, I hope so
I hate watching so many people get scammed
I’m no federation or csec expert but the big issue is storing the the user keys. Though maybe the keys could just be the user’s password. But then you have to trust that your instance isn’t stealing it.
You could have them checksummed by the lemmy/kbin/mastodon devs, but then now you have to trust them.
At some point you’d need a centralized authority, which is kinda against the whole point of the fediverse.
It sucks but your best option is to just put telegram info in your bio afaik
E2E for federated messages would be great tho
Probably but you’re not seeing it lemmy is not large enough to have the same tracktion as Reddit
Neato
Is pixelfed a good option for this sort of stuff?
