If you’re a third-party-inclined person who isn’t an idiot or a nutjob, your only real option is to vote for Democrats in general, and ones who support ranked choice voting in particular (because you sure as Hell aren’t gonna get it from the Republicans), and then switch to your third party of choice only after ranked-choice voting is passed.

If Microsoft really cares for more users keeping their system updated they should fix their update process.

While some updates require a reboot on other OSes for them to take effect they don’t require work during the reboot maximizing the downtime.

Which is on top of the work done before rebooting, on the background, unprompted, destroying system performance.

When you use a hotspot from your phone the site/peers/whatever sees an IP that your ISP has assigned to you and could share that with authorities etc.

When you use a WiFi they see an IP assigned to the owner of the WiFi.

Security wise its easier for others in the WiFi to try and fuck with your computer since you are on the same LAN.

So it depends on what you fear the most.

I don’t know about Italian but I can tell you Greek Americans plainly can’t speak Greek.

If you are wondering why Israel is wrong and Palestinians in the right despite both sides’ soldiers (and “soldiers”) committing war crimes, it’s because Israel created this situation by occupying Palestine and trying to ethnically cleanse it.

People in the West are way naive and sheltered from the realities of war, in part due to propaganda and how western war efforts have been portrayed as unrealistically “clean” and sanitized.

Because settling occupied territories is against the Geneva convention and a way to ethnically cleanse an area.

They bought their own propaganda that America’s worldwide military presence is not for it’s own benefit but out of a noble desire to protect democracy or whatever.

There is no Europe entity. There’s the EU and NATO with Ukraine not being a member in any of them.

I don’t have any more special connection to Ukrainians than you have because I am European. They are foreigners to me just as they are to you. This goes for most Europeans except maybe for Slavic people.

The rest support Ukraine for the same reasons the US do. Because Russia is a geopolitical rival. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is immoral but it’s not the actual reason for any support of Ukraine. EU countries and the US can live happily with people getting massacred in other countries with Gaza being the most prominent but far from the only example.

So Germany will support Ukraine up to the point its not inconvenient for them. They don’t have any special kinship nor any legal obligation to assist more.

If Russia had performed better in the war Germany probably would feel urged to spend more both in Ukraine to win time to rearm itself. As things stand, Russia cannot threaten Germany and whether it occupies parts of Ukraine is not the end of the world (for Germany).

The US won’t “stop funding the defense” of EU or Taiwan or any other country. That’s the basis of US power. Trump might be compromised, other right wongers might be interested in trading USA’s dominance in the world for remaking of according to their fantasies but they are going to meet pushback from the establishment, including right wingers, including the military. Not going to be alright in any sense but the US military won’t just withdraw.

There is as far as I can tell no new actual license just a payment scheme and some shaming functionality. They even offer you the software if you don’t pay. Remember the GPL allows them to require payment to give you the software, they just can’t prohibit someone else giving you the software.

However calling unpaid copies unlicensed is incorrect, they are licensed under the GPL (just like paid ones are).

With the context of piracy in mind sites located beyond your own country’s authority are a better choice as they are less likely to cooperate.

Of course unless you take measures your isp will know you 've been accessing that site. Additionally even though the domain is normally under Russian control your country’s authority can actually order your ISP to have it’s DNS direct you elsewhere.
