  • The current rules are just a complete and utter disaster. Instead of leaving a car’s width, it’s the car ahead at the apex that gets the corner.

The main problem is that there is no clear idea where exactly the apex is, and which line to draw from that apex. And then you get different rulings for similar actions. See for example Piastri, who got 5 seconds for forcing Gasly off track.

I hate the whole situation. The only way to overtake Verstappen is to not be near him, because he understands the rules best and uses them to his advantage. It’s been like this for years and it’s toxic for good racing.

  • I just don’t understand McLaren. Remember the drama in Hungary, where Norris had to give up his position to Piastri? But now, papaya rules?

Somehow, Piastri seems bent on not being #2 and it looks like he’s got the team behind him. And Norris is such a nice guy he’ll just fold and play along.

Piastri is ruthless enough to be WDC, but his racecraft is erratic. Norris is a better allround, quick and can keep his cool. But he’s too fucking diplomatic. They need each other to maximize points and not squeeze each other out of the way.

  • This race I was surprised by two things: how easily Max lost his chill and that this incident wasn’t punished.

I things keep going like this, the constructors might be in danger, but Max himself is comfortably ahead. But if he always removed around and damages morale like that the moment he’s not ahead, that will drag the team down.

And how TF could a dive bomb with contact like that go unpunished? At first I thought Max was out to get Lewis - it looked more like a soccer tackle than an attempt to navigate the corner. Is this really how we’re racing in the fastest series? Crazy.

  • If you haven’t published a few papers then your preference in acronyms is irrelevant.

AI comprises everything from pattern recognition like OCR and speech recognition to the complex transformers we know now. All of these are specialized in that they can only accomplish a single task. Such as recognizing graffiti or generating graffiti. AGI, artificial general intelligence, would be flexible enough to do all the things and is currently considered the holy grail of ai.
