  • He did remove their supreme court’s ability to try him for his crimes, his party is the majority in Israeli parliament, he’s disbanded the war cabinet, and they’re actively trying to push back the next election date. So yeah, pretty much a dictator.

Netanyahu would lose a massive amount of power if President Biden would stop sending him so much money and weapons. Even the threat of doing so would have a huge impact. So arguably, a puppet dictator is more accurate. Although the way they interact would lead one to believe Bibi is the actual puppet master.

  • I’ll choose to bend over backwards here in order to assume positive intent - Harris, as VP, has almost no power in the situation currently. Biden is literally one of, if not the most, Zionist presidents in the history of the US. Biden will never stop short of giving Israel everything and more, even as Netenyahu repeatedly embarrasses him and shows himself to be a fascist head of a terror state who considers Israel beyond reproach and above international law.

Once Kamala assumes the presidency, she will be able to act on her own authority. Let’s hope that moment brings a marked turn in American support of the unfolding genocide in Gaza. And if not, we can apply pressure on the Harris admin until she changes her tune. That wouldn’t be possible at all with Trump or Biden, so at least with Harris we have some glimmer of hope for the Palestinian people.

  • I think the person you replied to intentionally chose “Centrists,” not “GOP.” The problem here is corporate capture of Congress. Republicans are the default gatekeepers, but when populist ideas such as this on the left start to take root, that’s when the democrats come out to squash the effort. Think Manchin, Sinema for the usual suspect scapegoats. But if shit gets real, look at how Pelosi laughs off the STOCK act whenever it’s mentioned. Because of course, policy makers should get to partake in unlimited insider trading, right? Because how else would they be incentivized to continue repealing regulations to allow for wider corporate profit margins.
