I used to use the Brazilian ABNT-2 layout, it’s pretty much just a US layout with accent keys that activate like a second layer for some specific keys to display specific Portuguese language characters such as ç á à â ã é è etc. It’s surprisingly ok for programming as it doesn’t get in the way because you have special keys to activate the 2nd layer and most of them you need to spread shift + something in order to activate them. I’d say it’s a good layout.

I was feeling pretty bad a few days before Christmas. Couldn’t breathe, anxiety level off the roof. I did a COVID test from the pharmacy which was negative, which in turn made me feel even more anxious about my health. A day after Christmas I was so bad I went to the hospital. They tested me there and in less than a minute it was a positive.

It was a pretty bad COVID, I got vaccinated about 2 years ago but this was the first time I actually got it. It went pretty pretty bad.

I am still suffering from long COVID symptoms, mostly issues with short breath etc. Currently lying down on the couch trying to get better. I really hope this ends soon, I need my life back.

I hope you don’t have to go through the same thing. I really wish you a swift recovery.

The fonts are nice but I absolutely hate the “copilot voice” text moving around idea, it’s absolutely terrible to read.

I’m originally from Brazil but I’ve been living in Poland for the past decade so I had the Polish app setup with Android covid notifications. The neat thing is that it doesn’t matter as they all talk together due to how the protocol works.

I got a few notifications in Poland, and I also did travel to Brazil, and got notifications there too.

The app only works if enough people are in though, so if nobody uses then it won’t work. Depends on the area, people, way of thinking.

I came back to using Linux after a few years break this week, tested a bunch of different distros, and for some reason the game I picked to load on all of them to test gaming was No Man’s Sky.

Needless to say, after I finished setting up my final distro of choice (which was Ubuntu 23.10), I’ve put many more hours into this game since.

I’ve got it already on my Pixel 6 with Android 14.

That’s quite interesting, leaving aside all the monopoly arguments, I think this has potential to being very beneficial to all blizzard games, and so to us.

The rest of the world uses WhatsApp or something else that’s popular in their country. I know it’s not helpful in your case but you guys really need to get over SMS if you want something better and the reason why is because the EU is about enforce all those chat app giants to be able to talk to eachother so if I use Viber but you ube WhatsApp we can still talk anyway, which is pretty fucking cool, but it won’t matter for you if you keep using SMS.

I am on the exact same boat as you. 9yo daughter keeps asking to download a bunch of crap with in app purchases or ads. The problem is that there’s so much crap for mobile. I almost never play anything on my phone, but her at her age and the current times of short attention span being bored for longer than a second seems.like a taboo, she needs to have stuff on her phone, even though we have a Switch at home with loads of good quality games.

It’s just the way it is.

They’re limited as hell and buggy. The thing that most bothers me is the character limit and then your device sends out multiple SMSs, other devices may not understand that and instead of receiving one message you receive multiple broken ones.

Accents, anything not in the English alphabet: á ä ā ą é ê and so on, good luck with those.

Attaching media is a nightmare, basically the entire MMS protocol is broken.

You’re relying on your carrier and your recipients carriers.

International messaging is also completely broken for the reason above. You can forget any media in that case too.

Geez I don’t know if I should continue. Did you know SMS was not a feature planned in phones originally but rather it takes advantage of a bug that was never fixed?

In Brazil where I’m originally from people stopped using SMS altogether as soon as the first iPhone got in the market. Android followed shortly after. Viber was the popular choice back then, now WhatsApp is the standard.

There’s a new tracking network? Is it similar to Apple’s airtag stuff?

I meant that an iOS version is upcoming and the Android version is in early access, I hope you didn’t think I honestly believed you can install Android apps on iOS.

It’s not his decision really. In Brazilian legislation, unlike many countries, the president is not the one who rules the country. He has very little power actually, his main purpose is to be the leader of his party and a public figure for diplomatic relations. That’s why just a couple days ago he backed off with this statement and said it is up to judiciary to decide.
