let me try this another way. i don’t agree with the statement that a is currently causing b, because i don’t see a happening. b has some other cause.

i don’t think pushing for Biden is leading to a Trump win, because i don’t see many people pushing for Biden. i see a lot of people (social media, talking heads, news outlets) complaining about Biden.

if Dems and progressives want to defeat Trump, well, you coulda fooled me because that’s not what their behavior accomplishes. it looks like a great many are weakening and undermining our current path to success. right now, with no compelling alternative, that means a Trump win.

as far as i can tell, we can support Biden or continue to shoot at our own feet in a panic which only makes the opposition stronger.

because we don’t beat dumbfuck if people don’t get out to vote. for all their asshattery, republicans get one thing right - they tow the party line when it counts. by contrast, dems have been projecting increasing hysteria and doubt over the last several weeks. how does that motivate anyone?

i think AOC cares about results. the results aren’t going to be good if dems don’t get it together and vote for Biden or whichever politician gets the nomination. doesn’t even matter at this point who it is.

anyway, what’s it to you? if someone has an abortion and never chooses to have a child, why does that matter to anyone else?

what does a crew do exactly? for that matter, what does the work of a pilot look like? i have been reading your comments, and i can see that planning is certainly a part of it.

also, this is why ciswomen will sometimes use the men’s restroom. long line, desperation, potentially exacerbated by the fact that birthing children sometimes makes it harder to wait afterward.

side note - i almost never clock anyone as trans. i figure most people don’t, or don’t correctly (i have heard of people challenging butch ciswomen). how would most folks even know?! just mind your business and do your business, and let others do the same.

edit - to clarify, i don’t think she was reacting to an outburst, i think she immediately demonstrated that some people anthropomorphize very easily.

humans are social creatures (even if some of us don’t tend to think of ourselves that way). it serves us, and the majority of us are very good at imagining what others might be thinking (even if our imaginings don’t reflect reality), or identifying faces where there are none (see - outlets, googly eyes).

i posted about having this experience on reddit a year or two ago and people were pissed? but yeah, empty shelves and barely any employees. it sucks, because i used to enjoy going there to see what’s new.

unfortunately, this is often true in big cities as well.

things are a lot better in that regard than they used to be. dv is no longer by default regarded as a “private matter,” laws and resources have improved.

on the flip side, dv can be hard to prove, especially to a busy cop or judge. and policing is also not a profession averse to abusers.

years ago, i lived in a community where someone had spray-painted the dumpster. it said something like “tear it all down and start over.” i endorsed that at the time.

now i am way too invested in way too many people to see it go down like that.

the bad news is that, despite growing up with pc’s and having had some level of troubleshooting skill as a result, i have forgotten most of it in the last 10 years as computing/tech has become pushy and handholdy. i suspect this is not uncommon.
