It was initially a pwa, but now it is a full and proper app, even available on Google play now!
I believe it can still be used as a pwa though.

I don’t actually know but it is fairly likely that the definition of ‘man’ in the law is defined as any person. It is that way in the US at least, though most new laws and such use person there are quite a few old laws that use such wording to describe any person.
You’re mostly right, but his particular thing actually is safe. The water they are releasing is very very slightly more radioactive than normal water, but it’s so diluted it is harmless. As said by another commenter, if you only drank the water they are releasing you would have the equivalent extra radiation exposure as a flight across the US, or an x-ray or 2. And they are releasing it slowly into the entire ocean, it legitimately will be safe.

As far as I know there is no way to make it exactly the same as chrome, but honestly I think the ways you can do it in Firefox are better, here are some tips:
you can hover over the tabs and scroll to shift left and right, or click the little arros on either side. It will still always show you what each tab is, and still access all of them.
the tree-style-tabs extension, it’s fairly hard to get into the habit of using and is a big change (I’m still getting used to it myself), but it can make organizing giant tab messes easier. It can be used similarly to tab groups in chrome where you can minimize child tabs
There are some other tab management extensions out there too that you can look further into if you want as well. Hope this helps!
Yeah we’d definitely be fine not federating and just continuing as normal, the question is whether potentially federation with meta would be a net gain or loss. Honestly it’s nearly impossible to tell without it actually happening
“i want to be a toxic asshole to people with different understandings and values than me about the platform we all share” - you, pretty much,
you can still be civil and accept that people have differing opinions even when you have such strongly held beliefs. there may be a ‘correct’ answer but not everyone will immediately see that, and about already commiting to doing nothing, they literally cannot take any action on the matter yet because threads has no federation or defederation connections yet, and we have plenty of time to disuss it and come to a reasonable decision.
its a vaguely progressive/leftist former shitposting subreddit with a very large lgbtq+ and ally prescence. the only rule is that you have to post before leaving browsing it. a sort of unofficial rule is that every post must have ‘rule’ in it. As for the name, no clue.
just looked it up, apparently the community used to be r/195 but it got shut down and then it became r/196. i could find signifigantly less about why r/195 had its same, all i found was this one post saying it was someone’s apartment number, so essentially its basically random.
IMO voting definitely had its uses, having a guage of whether people do/dont like stuff can be nice. and for seeing content, there are multiple different feed types, i assume only the top sorting is the only one to exclusively use votes, idk how hot/active work but it seems like active cares more about comments and overall interaction and hot is more about votes?
and using the contrast checker thing, it jumps up to almost a 10 just by changing to black. https://coolors.co/contrast-checker/000000-65c466
well… you dont
Yeah I definitely understand how it would be frustrating to not get the answer you need. A few things I thought of that would be helpful in finding a solution, what is the expected maximum number of tabs that need to be visible? Or is it that it truly needs to be all of them all the time?
Another user already commented it, but they should look at the tree-style tabs addon. They still won’t be able to see everything no matter what, but depending on screen size it might be able to fit more, and choose what is visible or not. I just started using it and it does take a bit to learn how to use effectively but seems overall better.
Signal is well encrypted and very much respects privacy of data, but I don’t think it’s federated. It can interface with normal texts though iirc
Yea I just randomly went to go look at all posts I stead of my subscribed feed for a change and saw this, I have no prior clu of what the hell happened but I’m morbidly curious too lol
