  • Yup! We can return the favor by supporting Republicans who follow reason and act in good faith. We all recognize that in some places getting anyone left leaning elected is practically impossible. So what we can do is back a good red ticket instead. Just one of many courses we could take in the near future. If you squint, this also has the potential to lead into a three party system later on.

That said, accountability should be part of the game they’re playing.

  • It works both ways and they know that. They’re aware that those of us that do care also know we need to beat Trump. Our consequences are greater than theirs. The push for Harris-Walz is in acknowledgement of this and an opportunity for us to have a voice.

Trump enters THE seat of power and your words won’t only fall on deaf ears, there may be provisions created to silence you as well. You obviously don’t like it, this is how it is. We have to do it one step at a time. That is the current limit of our voice, and the step is pointing towards stopping Trump and dissolving the modern Republican Party.

Right now it’s either help support the people who may listen, or let in those that have literally said they will make it worse. Stubborn as you are I’m sure you can weigh the odds on this one.

  • We really need you to pull your head out of your ass. The extremely simple reality follows, and I am speaking for every reasonable person:

The situation in Gaza is not supported by us. It’s evil. It should not be happening. We condemn it. However, we also recognize that around our elections some war or conflict occurs. Moreover, possibly more than any other time in modern history, we are educated.

It is precisely the idea of malicious and evil persons intent on causing as much harm as possible why we must turn inward and focus on stopping more damage from occurring. Harris, Walz, Biden, they are not the same. We need you to back up and look at the larger picture. In fact, traditionally Republicans have used wars and conflict to distract the Left leaning voting bases. They know their supporters will, quite literally if you let them, go in guns blazing in support of war, all of them yelling some false patriotic zing of a bad battle cry. Meanwhile, the rest of us condemn it in various ways and that breaks us apart.

Look, I understand your frustration. To you it must appear as if we are okay with people dying. We’re not. We just accept that if Trump, and more importantly the people who coerce their way into certain positions, are allowed to take the Presidency that it will get worse. Much worse. We aren’t willing to let that happen due to ethical or moral quandaries. As gross as it is to have to turn inward and focus here when people are being killed. We have a job to do.

Fail that and we may as well apologize to the entire world.

  • And we can effectively shift that balance. I will never willingly advocate for things that hurt people. Though I can be ignorant just like anyone else. What I will do is ask us to come together and seek positive change in the most effective ways, even if that means a temporary set back, so long as there are plans to shore it up quickly. This is because I recognize that short-term sacrifices will probably be necessary to achieve a more positive, bigger picture outcome.

HOWEVER, as we are seeing and experiencing, we as a united voice can help enact better changes and less sacrifices by all yelling into the wind. Seems that when enough people do it, our voices carry rather well.

  • Except you did something. My words were not and never will be meant for those that act, even in small ways. Mine are for the tolerant who avert their eyes. Those who shed empty words to empathetic listeners to feel better about what they considered doing, yet never acted upon. Those words are meant for the many who always thought they might, yet knew they never would. Yes, they have their reasons. Some of those reasons are even completely valid.

It remains though that for the majority that remain whose excuses fail, my words ring true. Like it or not we must speak. You did. I did. Plenty of people did. Many, many more did not, never to those who needed to hear it. Just within the last week I saw on here and overheard in my community two similar comments, both of which talked about being patient and staying reasonable. That people will come to their senses. Tolerance is not noble when so much is on the line.

My words were for those tolerant majority who hate how things have gone. Who scramble to make excuses and find the right angles. I speak because they won’t. I just wish they would. More have done so, though plenty remain silent, content to watch as the rest of us attempt CPR on a nation at the brink of precipice that we. can. stop.

We just have to work together and be, ironically, tolerant of each other. Saving our frustrations for the meaningful fights.

  • Politics is funny, like an oversized truck driven by an oversized grandma whose reflexes have slowed with time. The truck is unwieldy due to its size, and the driver often unable to see over the steering wheel until there is a bump that causes her to glance at more of the road than she’s used to seeing. Even when Grandma does react, the truck is slow to move, and if it moves quickly it runs the risk of tipping over.

We do need bigger change. That change will NOT happen overnight, too much damage has been done. What we need to do is walk back the worst damage, reinforce codes and laws to stop them being overturned by holiday worshipping dick heads, tackle creating a foundation to work off of, and then work towards larger, more meaningful change. In that order. Maybe swap around the middle as needed if blocked by certain justices.

Every single inch will be fought for. Every real change challenged. Harris and the party she hopefully recreates will need our support. Even Old Man Willow Biden bowed when we sang our song loudly enough, together.
