Without getting too technical, the way that Google develops Android has significantly changed. The first Android version to be released as part of the trunk stable project was Android 14 QPR2 back in March, which is why that release used a very different build ID naming scheme. There are many misconceptions about the rules of a president choosing their running mate. There’s no law or regulation against a president and vice president of the United States being from the same state. The reason why some people mistakenly believe such a prohibition exists comes down to a particular aspect of the Electoral College system laid out in Article II of the U.S. Constitution.

Article II states: “The electors shall meet in their respective states, and vote by ballot for two persons, of whom one at least shall not be an inhabitant of the same state with themselves.”

Under the original system, electors did not distinguish between candidates for the nation’s top two offices; the candidate with the most votes became president, while the runner-up became vice president.

The 12th Amendment, adopted in 1804 after two chaotic elections, mandated that electors cast separate ballots for president and vice president. However, the rule preventing an elector from voting for two people from his home state remained in effect under the new system.

In a 6-3 ruling authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, the court found that a president has absolute immunity for acts within their core constitutional powers and a presumption of immunity for “acts within the outer perimeter of his official responsibility.”

Judge Chutkan will now be responsible for applying the Supreme Court’s decision to the allegations in Trump’s criminal case, including whether Trump’s actions were “official acts” or private conduct that can be prosecuted.

Great to hear you got it sorted! May I ask out of curiosity which library you are using to play sounds?

It should be possible, but the answer is going to depend on your implementation, what libraries you are using, and so on.

For example, if the play sound action is synchronous, then maybe you could start it up in another thread, and interrupt that thread if you want to cancel the sound.

If it’s asynchronous, maybe you need to retain a reference to the sound object and then invoke a stop() call when the other button is pressed.

Ten years ago I’d say “wtf” but then I had ube keso (purple yam and cheese) ice cream. I don’t understand why it is not awful and is in fact delicious, and now I think the only valid way to judge an ice cream flavor (within reason) is to ignore the list of contents and just taste it.

I’m not sure how many boxes it ticks off for you, but I’ve been trying to get away from Tuya gear and a friend put me on to “Athom”. Most (all?) of their stuff seems to come pre-flashed with Tasmota and with what I’ve had, it integrates nicely with home assistant (mqtt + tasmota plugin, config the globe and you’re good to go).

I’ve just gotten two of their 15W led globes plus a WS2812 addressable LED controller a few weeks ago, and so far so good with all of the above.

From what I’ve seen I’m pretty sure they have plugs/sockets for a few different countries available, they have in-wall stuff, smart light switches, relays, and pretty sure they do some zigbee or similar as well.

I picked mine up from Ali Express but I’ve seen them on Amazon and they’re probably available on other places as well (eBay, etc).

Ah that’s great. It wasn’t an option when I had to get it sorted but that was a few years ago. The self-service options in the app are excellent for basic config and troubleshooting.

I have AussieBB and had to give them a call at one point to allow inbound traffic so I could expose my self-hosted server. They flicked a switch for my account and then everything came good.

If you give them a ring and explain what you’re trying to do it should get sorted out very quickly. Their customer service staff are very knowledgeable and friendly - they’re the best RSP I’ve ever had.
