If you like the older windows ui, Linux mint. You don’t need to look any further than that. If you want something fresh and cool, use regular fedora with gnome, if you want a more mac like or windows 11 experience use fedora kde. That’s all you need to know.
Honestly, it’s not even about JK Rowling, the actual Harry Potter series has very poor values in general, and the world is quite poorly written. Not something I’d want to promote to other people or children regardless of Rowling’s nonsense. The books turned me off very much as a kid though the movies are much more palatable. It’s just a really mean series.
I’m pretty sure the people behind Godot actually started a company to solve this exact issue, so it should be fine these days.
I don’t know that much but I know it’s not much different than the regular election process. Judges have to “campaign” and get elected by voters in certain states. This did not used to be an issue as much in the past as judges would indeed be biased but they wouldn’t exercise it as much. (Still not a great system at all imo)
Recently though, judges have been way more political as certain historical rulings have moved out of fact-based territory to religious/politically based entirely like abortion or gay marriage.
Amending a constitution is actually pretty hard so the courts have massive leeway to decide on issues like abortion despite it being more of a policy thing than a law thing.

While this is a cool concept, I don’t think there is a single organization with the money needed to pull it off that wouldn’t also ruin the concept with monetization features. Maybe some kind of community made game could accomplish it, similar to what the Thrive devs are doing, but the amount of consistent resources needed would be a lot.
It is kind of strange, but hey progress is progress. People are probably just happy to get anything at this point.
Memmy is an iOS only app though. It would like pretty out of place on android as it is right now imo. And personally I find the design to be a little more clean than Mlem right now.

I remember reading a blog post (I think from them) that said they didn’t mind a KDE version. The one caveat is that it had to be as feature complete and polished as the GNOME version with a full suite of modern QT/KDE apps to replace the GTK ones. Considering the core team are pretty much all GTK devs (some with their own apps) it seems pretty unlikely unless a community team that really likes KDE and the vanillaos concept forms.
