Children of a Dead Earth is a tactical space game with n-body Newtonian physics. This means that on the surface it is very similar to something like KSP, you can do things like orbit a Lagrange point. In addition, you can design all the parts of you spacecraft and weaponry down to the materials they use. If you can make a fuel tank made out of aerogel work with the laws of physics, then you can use it. For example, I made a coilgun that fires nukes which was devastating at close range but the low velocity of the nukes made them easy to dodge at long range and without any thrusters, they cannot course correct.

Fusion is effectively renewable. Use a small portion of energy to do electrolysis and you got your fuel. We won’t be running out of water any time soon.

There is actually a smallest number, typically denoted by a lower case epsilon, which is infintesimally small, typically used in calculus proofs.

0.1111… is equal to 1/9. 0.0000… is trivially equal to 0.

This is not a proof as you start with the answer, albeit disguised as a known truth. Here is a real proof. Start by assigning the recurring decimal a variable.

x = 0.9999...

Now calculate 10 times this by shifting the decimal place.

10x = 9.9999...

You can then subtract the second equation from the first. Note that all the digits after the decimal cancel out, leaving us with the following.

9x = 9
x = 1

Therefore, 0.9999… = 1. Infinity does weird things!

It is just how I prefer to do my computing. I tend to live on the command line and pipe programs together to get complex behavior. If you don’t like that, then my approach is not for you and that’s fine. As for your analogy, I see it more as “instead of driving down the road in a car, I like to put my own car together using prefabs”.

Option 4: levy existing tools such as gpg and git using something like pass. That way, you are keeping things simple but it requires more technical knowledge. Depending on your threat model, you may want to invest in a hardware security key such as a yubikey which works well with both gpg and ssh.

Not really a hot take. Why do you think most dynamic languages have the option to tack on static typing?

OpenFOAM. I needed powerful software to do CFD that was free, as in free beer, and found OpenFOAM. To run it on windows, the installation instructions first step was install linux on a vm then follow the linux installation instructions. I did that and started using the vm for other stuff until I found myself using the vm for most tasks, but kept using windows for gaming. To learn more, I got myself a pinebook, which replaced most of the usage of my vm. When windows decided to self destruct, I had learnt enough to install and configure arch with minimal help. Now, nothing can persuade me to go back.
