  • There are definitely some federated servers that need to be removed from network

Lemmy.ml in particular is being used to push specific voices and banning anyone else

Banned apparently from asklemmy on there because one asshole interpreted me supporting Israel. When my comment exclusively was pointing out that the past the use made was low effort trolling meme in a thread complaining about trolling

So thank you davel@lemmy.ml for directly evidencing that you, and your node are hateful little agenda pushing shits.

    I want to love lemmy

But the federated model will fail if nodes like the .ml continue to online and assholes like this mod have zero accountability

I honestly don’t feel like because I’d these problems this site is any better than Reddit.

We also need the power to block a node completely from our feeds.(found it in filters) Also to block and ban entire nodes from our own communities as i don’t want any lemmy.ml users in my sub

Keep being salty little shits ml users. Your proving the point to the rest of the lemmy world

The biggest mod tool: manual ban entry for preventing certain users. Looking for a way to ban from a community an individual before they show up.

  • Absolutely. it’s a bad precedent.

Minimum wage staff still get tips though. I still tip here now that it’s mandatory they get paid min wage. Overall, means that they make more than before they were earning min wage as well.

it’s a big win. They ge ta living wage doing their jobs and they get bonuses in tips on top of their living wage instead of relying upon it.

  • Employees who won’t be able to make a living will go elsewhere. it’s not easy and instant, but eventually if a restaraunt can’t staff itself, it will collapse.

We should absolutely not be subsidizing restaraunt owners who are only keeping a float by paying low wages. if they can’t afford to properly pay their staff, they don’t deserve to operate.

  • This is ridiculous amount to tip. Good on you for being frivolous and not caring how much you spend, but understand that by your further escalation of tipping you are directly contributing to the businesses that are getting away with it.

Not 10 years ago, expected tipping was 10-15%. Now you’re throwing 25-30? Or 50? you realize how unstable, unrealistic and how bad a precedent that is setting?

  • Sure, but on the flip side, I’m paying for the service already. It’s not on us to subsidize the cost.

TIpping was meant and should only be done as a reward for job well done. Not a defacto standard expectation just because you did your job.

    That’s what your pay is.

NOW, go fight for better wages. Unionize, promote higher minimum wages, be the change you want to see. But sitting here and bitching out customers because they don’t tip is a you problem.

  • thank you.

I am trying to get into Lemmy after Reddit’s descent into a hate filled fest of terrorism supporters and foreign bots trying to disrupt communities.

I have been very hesitant to post and participate here because there are several communities that seem to be going down the same path of being formed to exclusively pushed one specific narrative.

For example /c/WorldNews should be deleted as well as the mods. it isn’t covering world news. They have posted a single topic for one point and removed anyone else

that is against your ToS as well since it’s being used to push hate and racism.
