Some games give you a story that sticks with you and you love them for that (Half-Life, To The Moon, Bioshock Infinite). Some give you an experience that sticks with you but no story to speak of (like Doom and Doom II, which I still play).
What I dislike is having to deal with people in my games. I already do that in reality, thank you very much.
To me games are about escaping reality.

Regarding “cost per megabyte”…
I see your point, but for me it is more important the “entertainment per €/$” factor, and there you can’t beat indie games.
I’ve bought the whole Halo collection… that’s a metric ton of megabytes right there, but I’ve only installed it once and never again. In contrast, I’ve bought Loop Hero (about 200 MB) and haven’t been able to put it down since. That’s a lot more value for money, in my opinion.
When moving over from that other site it was the first instance I tried, for no particular reason.
They made me write a statement why I would want to join the instance (okay, you need to filter the bots, fair enough) so I wrote a nice little text to let them know. I guess I failed to write the keywords they were looking for, so they denied my application.
That told me all I needed to know about the mods.
I have too many Half-life games and mods installed and refuse to remove them to make room for other, larger, games.
Now I will have to try the bucket%.
