It’s impossible. I’ve done similar things with my own mother for years and years, yet it’s like talking to a reinforced concrete wall. Nothing I will say can change her opinion on anything political. The thing is though, my Mom has been a rabid Republican since the 80s. She even used to run her county’s Republican headquarters for a time and considered getting into politics so she really is impossible to sway anyway compared to most people. Sad thing is, I am her only son and not even I can convince her….

Nuclear waste is better overall for the environment than coal ash ponds. I live near a coal power plant with those ponds. Not the prettiest sight to see and probably poisoning my local water table. Also, coal produces more nuclear radiation than nuclear power plants do.
