  • I disagree. Robots could still be designed to work and fit in human spaces but be much more versatile with more limbs. Like they could have 4 legs that are the same size as 2 human legs (think 2 human legs split right down the center). Robots don’t need muscle mass in order to carry their weight. You can fit way more in a smaller space with pneumatics. You could have arms that split apart into more arms when needed. Why only 5 fingers per hand? Why only 1 thumb per hand? Why only eyes/cameras on the head? They should have eyes/cameras everywhere. Every place you can put them. Bipedal is good enough for us because it’s what we have. When you get to design something from the ground up, make it harder, better, faster, stronger.

  • I delivered pizza for a few years in my early years, and poorly lit addresses were the absolute worst. I was delivering in the pre-smartphone but post mapquest era, and we had a computer in the shop with a touch screen (which was crazy at the time) map on it so you could figure out where we were going. But God forbid you ended up on a one way street looking for an address that was poorly labeled or unlit and you got somebody behind you laying on their horn… At some point I bought a 1000 candle spotlight that I used at night, and that got me pulled over several times because people would call the police about “a slow driving car shining a spotlight out of its window”… Like… For fucks sake. I’m just trying to deliver some pizza.

With that said, while working I smoked a bunch of weed, listened to a bunch of good music, and generally got tipped well so… It was a good time.

  • People keep asking about storage and that’s a valid concern. I remember a while ago Linus made a video about a crypto that can be mined with storage. So he made a huge raid of old drives. I wonder if something like this could or would be practical for a decentralized storage solution. Like… Encourage people to set up NAS’s that can be used sort of like torrent seeding for a decentralized video platform and reward them with crypto.

I dunno… Just thinking out loud.

Edit: Jeez hit a nerve with the crypto thing, huh? Then what’s the solution? Storage costs money. So ads? Subscription cost?
