  • Yeah apparently on Lemmy if you criticize Biden or Kamala you want trump to win. There’s no nuance of “hey maybe we should force a better choice than a genocide enabler who will stick to the status quo as it has been for the past 40 years and change nothing, or an orange more evil genocide enabler”

Like I absolutely don’t want trump as a president. I also absolutely don’t want my taxes and money going to kill innocent people. These are not two contradictory viewpoints but people don’t seem to understand that. Hell, even Kamala doesn’t seem to understand that based on her rhetoric.

I’m tired of the white house being concerned or disappointed by Israel. If your child concerned or disappointed you so much and didn’t change his or her behavior, you would put in some consequences. Otherwise you would be a shitty parent. That simple.

  • Ok, but he is still supporting genocide. Doesn’t matter if he’s running. And Kamala has basically said that anyone who protests the genocide is for trump, which makes no sense and alienates a lot of people.

Democrats are better than republicans right now, I never said they weren’t. In fact, I said they were. But that does not mean they are good.

How do you get another choice if you do not stand up and speak against evil? If you just accept this is what we have, then nothing happens.

Actually I have been campaigning and calling my reps, so not sure what that has to do with anything. I never demanded you quit your job You made that up. Who’s doing what aboutism now?

You are the one who said why bring it up in an election year. The reason is that it is happening in an election year. When else was I supposed to bring it up? Before it happened? Or ten years after when everyone will say oh wow that was awful?

  • Sure trump supports it. But all biden says is he is disappointed in Bibi and then sends another 3 billion over weekly.

Yes, Donald trump would be far worse for the US than Kamala. That is without a doubt. That does not mean that the democrats have been good for the US. They are also bought out by corporate lobbies and they are also supporting a genocide.

People forget that if you choose the lesser of two evils you are still choosing evil.

Bringing up the fact that he will be remembered in the rest of the world as a genocidal monster does not mean you support the republicans.

In fact, it is saddening to me that the party that is supposed to be liberal/left wing is in fact center right at the absolute most. This is the same party that thought Hillary Clinton was a good choice, when she would have been a right wing candidate in most western European elections at the time.

Also, this genocide started October 2023, one year before the election. It’s not like we decided when Israel was going to batshit crazy

  • I commute 5 hours a day for work, and have to go in 3 times a week. I take the train now, but still have to drive 25 min to the train station. Taking the train takes exactly the same time as driving to my job. Which by itself is ridiculous. Up until recently, the option of taking the train in was not available. So I spent 5 hours in my car. The price difference between moving closer to work Vs living where I am right now is almost 2.5k a month. I don’t get paid enough to pay 48 to 52k a year in rent. I work in cancer research. The jobs are in the city, not outside. So I don’t have a choice, because every company that does what I do is in the city, and doesn’t do remote work.

I have a feeling you don’t really understand how things work for people sometimes
