Are you trying to say that unwanted teen pregnancies are the answer to population decline?
How about pixel?
Well, here (in middle of finland) the sun set at 14:30, so there wasn’t all that much solar energy available.
Also heat pumps are always at least as efficient as straight electric heating.
Oh it hadn’t occured to me that not only salt causes osmosis. Thank you for the explanation!
Seems like I’m going to boil the potatoes whole in the future, thanks again :)
Isn’t the osmosis minimized when the salt concentration of the water matches that of the potatoes, and thus it shouldn’t affect the saltiness of the end product? Assuming that the water is thrown away of course.
Do you know whether salting the water heavily affects the water absorption rate of cut potatoes? It should reduce it on cell level, but I don’t know if that is the case with starch
I suggest going straight to https://kagi.com, or you can also use your current search engine to find it using query “kagi”.
But to be serious, it’s great. The search results themselves feel like how google used to feel years ago before the enshittification, and there are many useful features, like changing priority of different websites. I for example have removed all pinterest sites, reduced instagram and increased wikipedia weighting. They have a free 200 search trial, give it a go!
Thanks, I was wondering whether this could be achieved using lenses
Close! That would be konnavesi.
Probably, since every other post is about search engines, and many of us have been cursing the ever-worsening search results from google, with no real alternative (that actually provides better results than google).
Now that there is finally an ad-free product that performs like Google did 5-10 years ago, of course, I want others to have the same experience and not get frustrated when they can’t find the information they’re seeking.
There are plant milks and creams for cooking purposes. As for the taste, if you feel plant milks have overpowering taste, you can mix multiple different types. For example, when we have made white sauce for lasagna, we use soy-, oat- and almond milk.
I haven’t used dairy in a long time, so I can’t think of anything where plant based products couldn’t be used as a reasonable replacement (apart from cheese, there the options are severely lacking)
Have you tried it? At least for me, I often get better results compared to google. Also Kagi has a free trial of 100 searches.
Granted I’m a developer, so my job is basically just searching for information, so getting better results is really valuable for me.
Oh shame. But thanks a lot, you have saved me a ton of headache
Naah, we jboth ust want a eye comfort mode THAT ACTUALLY REMOVES ALL OF THE BLUE LIGHT! WHAT IS THE POINT OF “eye comfort” THAT MAKES THE SCREEN SLIGHTLY ORANGE TINTED ON A DEVICE THAT IS GENERALLY USED JUST BEFORE BED??! Just let me make my screen devoid of all blue colours if I so want, EVEN FUCKING WINDOWS CAN DO IT OUT OF THE BOX!
Rant over, sorry
What a coincidence, today the first major roadblock was met: Google Wallet: It won’t allow using google pay on their device, probably because SafetyNet fails. Although it also should be circumventable, going to look into it on weekend.
My partners phone is rooted, and all their banking apps work by using just Magisk to hide root status. They have been running Xiaomi eu for couple years now.
I’m not so sure which one would have larger impact, do you happen to have any info about that? Of course the best option would be if both of these happened.
What I’m trying to get to, is that just because our own impact is small, it isn’t a reason to do nothing. There is no need to feel existencial threat from eating a steak or flying, but it’s best to remember that every little thing helps.
There is also the social effect: the more people make climate conscious decisions, the easier it becomes for others to make those same decisions! We are scial creatures after all.
Also vegan diet is generally cheaper, as long as you don’t eat only things like fake meat. After all, lentils and beans are much cheaper than meat.
Can you get companies to install solar panels? Few of us can, but (almost) anyone can go vegan. And even if you can influence corporations to reduce emissions, you can still go vegan! It’s not either/or
You need to go to the repositories tab in order to find the repos for chrome and firefox respecively
