Bubble wasn’t around when I last engaged with dating apps, though I wouldn’t give any app the benefit of the doubt, including in any conceivable future. While there are exceptions to the rule, as you mentioned, I’d say most people will be better off without dating apps, with or without a partner.
I can’t speak to women’s experiences, but as a man, it was pretty clear that these apps were dogshit designed to steal information while keeping you engaged with bots so they can further steal from you, including financially. Much like Facebook, I was an early rejector of dating apps, and I’ve been proven correct on both fronts. From what I can tell, the tech has only gotten better at taking advantage of lonely/stupid men. While dating isn’t really a concern for me anymore, when I was actively dating, it was never difficult to meet women. It just requires a willingness to be open and accept rejection. Also, be willing to cut off interaction for relationships that aren’t healthy. It’s better to be alone than in a shitty relationship.
Remember when windows 10 was supposed to be the last version of windows? 🤣
Can’t wait for that 20hr campaign while they dump all the effort into selling sharkbucks or whatever…
This is the only use of ai that I approve of. Angering Maga pissbabies.
I’m not sure why people downvoted instead of educating. To answer your question: no, it isn’t. It has been awhile since I’ve used torrents, so this may be a little out of date, but typically, within your P2P client you’ll have active “seeds,” including while you’re downloading. Some people immediately delete files from “active” after their download is complete. It is generally considered proper etiquette to leave the torrent active (at least) until it you have uploaded approximately 2x what you have downloaded. This helps keep torrents active and relatively quick, while not placing the bulk of the bandwidth burden on a few seeders.
That makes sense. I definitely could see a use case for developers, but I don’t see many average pc users having a need for or even being aware of this service.
I actually just canned windows in the past month. I’m not a developer or “power user,” but I ran back to Linux due to the screen capture and A.I. nonsense that Microsoft has been pursuing recently. I have been very happy with my recent experience on Linux and don’t imagine going back to Windows in any fashion. There have been incredible strides made since I was last on Linux, about 15 years ago.
It makes more sense that it has benefits in that direction than the other way around.
Does this really expand to Windows users? As a non-technical user, this is the first I’ve heard of WSL and I’m sure I’m not alone.
Some people, yes. I’m not interested in being nice. I’m interested in putting an end to 400+ years of racist trash making life difficult and creating as much suffering as they possibly can.
Life in prison is not enough. That may have been an option after the civil war if they had done what needed to be done at the time. Unfortunately, this go around, there will need to be more drastic measures, and this doesn’t just involve the officials, but the supporters as well. There is a blood debt that will need to be paid if we’ll ever move beyond this for good.
Given the demographic for these “products,” in not surprised.
Exactly. They were too busy trying to court the right that would never vote for them.
“Good target for romance scam.”
Not only that, but you’re often not getting the quality you’re paying for due to the limitations of streaming. So, I’m not going to pay $20+ a month for what equates to 720i with garbage audio. Absolutely not.
They did this to whatever hbo plan I was on a while back. It was 4k with atmos, and they switched it to 1080 with standard audio while expecting me to continue paying the same price. Canceled as soon as I received that email.
I was just answering your question. You asked what people were concerned about, so I pointed it out. This isn’t even remotely a concern for me. No need to talk down to me and then go on a tirade I didn’t read. Have a good one, champ.
That’s fair. I may generally be a bit over suspicious at times, but the apps definitely struck me as off very early on. As to charging men, while it does suck, I get it. It similar to “ladies’ night” at clubs (do they still do that?). It isn’t hard to get men in the door, but it is significantly harder to get women to attend, oftentimes due to some of the behaviors exhibited by the men. With the gender differences on app usage, it would likely drive that disparity even higher if they charged women.
