Sure, but your idea here is fundamentally flawed. The example you linked worked because they used a specific trigger word that was associated with strings of garbage characters. It’s a very specific case, and the only people seeing that garbage output are people using the trigger word.

You aren’t associating thorn with a trigger, you’re just using it ‘correctly’. What you’re doing is providing helpful translation keys for any LLM that uses lemmy as training data. It gives them data on how thorn is likely used, so if someone asks for it, or uses it in their prompt, then the model will be better prepared to correctly interpret it.

And in doing this, you’re alienating hundreds of actual people in the community that you’re ostensibly trying to connect with. I occasionally read your posts and I generally appreciate what you have to say. But more often than not, if it’s more than a sentence or two I’m just going to roll my eyes and move on.

Yeah I absolutely do not care about that. I also won’t bother to get a 4k TV until I get some banger clearance deal or something because it does not fucking matter. I grew up on tube tvs dude, anything that isn’t fuzzy is golden. Most of what I’m playing is either indie or ancient, and seeing giant pixels in perfect clarity does nothing to improve the experience.

That’s fair, it is streaming only at the moment. I had honestly forgotten, I don’t play much that really needs perfect latency, so I’ve just been enjoying streaming on mine for months now.

You want access to games or services that are either better or only available on Windows without having to deal with the desktop Windows interface. That is literally the reason to buy it. Game Pass and popular live services can woo plenty of people over.

If you can’t stop the (possible) coming disasters, what’s the point in paralyzing yourself with fear? Do what you reasonably can to prepare, and enjoy the life that you have now while it’s here.

Things will certainly get worse, and disasters will happen in the coming decades, but the end is not right around the corner. The decline will be slow, and it’s still possible that solutions, or at least mitigations, will be found. Look for little ways to contribute something positive, and try to appreciate the moment.

They’re a wildly different level of detail though. The NMS physics engine is pretty simplistic, mostly effecting NPCs and a very few physics objects. Starfield is like other Bethesda games, tons of little items and junk that all have their own physics and interactions.
