I don’t think it’s because you grew up poor. It’s because why would you buy coffee everyday?

I buy coffee almost everytime I’m at an airport or a train station, but that’s like… once every two months? If I would commute by train, I wouldn’t buy coffee everytime I’m at the train station, I would just wait until I’m in the office to grab a cup.

But I did buy a coffee daily, when I was in university. There was no way to get a coffee besides buying one, so I bought one. So I think thats the main thing about buying daily, necessity. Some companies only have paid machines, so you buy a coffee daily when at work. In school or university you don’t have a coffee machine available, so you buy one daily.

I don’t want to set a misunderstanding: this does not solve the state on reboot issue, maybe “flawlessly” is not the correct word. On a reboot, all automations are always stopped, so that does not help here.

It’s also important to set the mode of the automation to “restart”, then it works flawlessly

For your Google Account the Multi Factor Authentication is using your Android phone as second factor. You get a notification and have to click to accept the login, there is neither text notification nor authenticator. You also get an email when a new session is started on your GMail account. But don’t worry about the Android notification: this screen is especially secured and as long as your phone isn’t rooted there is no way for another App to spy on this notification

Do you have multi factor authentication enabled in your Google account? That would be the best way to keep intruders out. There really can’t be a session started without your consent when you have MFA enabled

If you use your phone like 99% of people do, it will be completely fine. If you don’t do gaming or 4K video editing on your phone, there’s no problem. The CPU will even be fine for Instagram face filters for the foreseeable future

My work laptop has Windows installed, but I use VSCode and WSL or EC2 Linux instances solely for my work. VSCodium would not work with that workflow because it lacks the Remote and WSL functionality

If you buy a drone for lets say 1000$ from Xiaomi via AliBaba, 100$ of those go to AliBaba maybe 1$ goes to Russia. from the 900$ left for Xiaomi, 600 are gone for the production. 300 left, 3 go to Russia. 4$ for Russia. But if this drone helps invalidate only one russian soldier, that 4$ are easily worth 100000$. If it helps invalidate a tank, it goes to the millions. Thats easily worth it if there is no alternative

To be completely honest (and I am a huge anti-coal-mining dude), currently I’m happy that we still have the coalmines running. It would not have been possible to build solar and wind power fast enough to compensate for the coalmines, the only feasible alternative would have been gas and that comes from russia

A lot of towns have been dug away for the lignite. The town now not digged away is just one of the few surviving ones. Also a lot of towns have been drowned for water storage lakes and Hydropower. Europe is populated way too densely to do any large infrastructure project without destroying towns in some ways. The residents are compensated with huge amounts of money, but for some they would still rather stay in the homes they have lived in for 50-80 years.

In this case the original plan was to move westwards because that’s where the coal lies in the ground. The lignite in the west is enough to keep the power plants running until 2050, the lignite in the east only until 2030. Because the date is now pushed forwards, it’s feasible to dig to the east. Also advanced technology plays a role: the original plans destroying the westwards towns were made when there was no technology to efficiently burn the lignite on the east, which is way less dense.
