Thank you for that!
I think I can say it now, except I keep wanting to put a Scottish “ch” at the end of Llangrannog instead of a “g” sound.

I just tried to pronounce the name of that place, and now my tongue hurts. Beautiful picture.
That is my experience too. It’s because there is no distinction between posts and comments, I think. It’s about as interesting as my sms chats with friends would be to strangers.
Thank you for posting that. It was well-written, and did a great job clarifying both why previous polls were inaccurate, and why they’re likely better now. I was particularly interested to read that the margin of error may be about double what is reported.
You should make this a top level post in this group. It is worth discussing on its own.
I took a smoking flight once. It totally reeked. Even as a smoker it was unpleasant. I also smoked in my hospital room after an appendectomy, which in hindsight seems absolutely nuts.
I quit 12 years ago after trying dozens of times. I credit e-cigs with helping me finally wean off of tobacco.
Why is Whitmer right out? I’m in Michigan, so I may not have a good perspective on what the rest of the US thinks of her.
They aren’t. They’re responding to an allegation.
The Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) denied the latest claims from House GOP impeachment investigators, who had accused the agency of intervening in the probe of Hunter Biden to stop an interview with one of his associates.
Edited, thank you!
I don’t know how frequently this happens, but my experience is that a link to a lemmy group was deleted by mods. It was very politely worded, and suggested and alternative community on Lemmy, and also noted that there’s no reason that somebody couldn’t read both communities. It was still deleted as “spam or self-promotion.”
That could just be a maturity issue with the mod who deleted it. It could also be that Reddit itself is doing it and simply said it was done by the mods of the group.
People like Musk are cynical, attention-seeking manipulators and narcissists. They aren’t afraid that their way of life is being threatened, they’re using the fears of others to further their own ends, and consider themselves above it all.
That article was the most cogent take I have seen on this subject. I have a similar cultural background (rednecks and urban, religious Polish-Americans), but see myself as a science-literate atheist. I have seen this first-hand, but wasn’t able to articulate it as well.
