  • What are you on about?

I’m actually in complete agreement with you. Yes there are safeties and whatever, I was just saying those safeties aren’t exactly monitored as you would expect. Don’t worry, I’m sure it won’t affect you. Wasn’t this just about chart recorders?

As for the personal stuff, sorry you took it that way. You want to argue about something we agree on and I know exactly how that goes. As such, i suggest we just skip to the part where we chill and do something fun. No you aren’t my child but picking apart my simple comment is sorta… well you know. It’s all good, you might be one in 8 billion but I’m still your friend. Take care.

  • I don’t know if it’s still there but I once did some work getting a plasma cutter back to operational. OS/2. Not even warp!

Oh it’s a pretty solid OS but i mean, damn.

Parallel port hardware key and everything. I do believe in keeping what works working but at some point you gotta let go because you run out of people that can solve problems with it.

  • Interesting take. I grew up Catholic, Sunday school yada yada. That guilt… that is some fucked up shit to put into a child.

But as you put it, Christians are far more insufferable and a significant reason why I changed my faith.

And please spare me how the Catholic Church is somehow king of pedo. Every Christian sect is rife with them. If you care about your kids stay away from them all. You can give them a better handle on ethics and mortality with some basic cartoons. And they’ll probably enjoy them rather than groan at the stupid outdated biblical shit you want to make them learn.

Yeah, I’m biased but i stand by that statement.

  • I’m gonna watch how your post is voted. I’ve gotten burned for that stance my entire life even though it’s perfectly logical.

Don’t really get the idea you aren’t supposed to try stuff out without upfront payment. Slightly better now but meh.

Don’t you worry though, any software I needed for business was all bought and paid for. I’m sure a few pennies got to the programmers / developers / artists that designed it. And i simply passed the cost on to my clients. Pretty obvious who wins here.

Then again I don’t really get what this post is about, just replying to you.

Edit: is qbitorrent still cool? I mean uTorrent was cool till it wasn’t. I never update it but I tried it out on Linux earlier this year and even with a VPN it leaked and i got a message from my ISP next day. That’s likely on me and bad settings but just checking

Been loving this app since the preview.

Reddit became a different site for me when I used baconit and w10m. Once i went to android there were a number of apps to try but i settled on boost.

After api changes I couldn’t bring myself to install their app and i did miss it. l used liftoff here for a bit but this has been so much more functional. Truly a great job by the dev and worth the wait. The paid version seems like a steal given you can’t get a good chicken sandwich anywhere near that.

I’ll probably gift a few copies to friends and family just so i don’t feel guilty.

Lord i sound like a paid amazon review. I’m as cycnal as they come though and not easily won over for what it’s worth.

  • That would be amazing… imagine face planting from a stupid stunt and being like no biggie they’ll grow back. Works for kids and we already know from admittedly gross tumors the human body can grow hair and teeth. Just have to get them in the right place.

Also agree with the other comment to your post… crispr will likely be for the rich. Hell, it probably already is. A cynical view but i don’t sit at that table so who knows.

  • Nuclear is great. A while back I came across a company that had developed a simple geothermal reactor (no pumps, cooling towers etc) that seemed neat but was probably just a VC bid.

They supposedly had a goal of building some tests in Idaho or something. They should have deployed it in PR after that hurricane. Would have made a great test site.

If course it’s old tech… I don’t remember which one but a Japanese company developed something similar… it was smaller than a typical Telco or isp pop is (or roughly 3x the size of your typical residential AC condenser) and could provide power for an entire community.

Funny how that stuff never materalizes.

Small scale modular reactors make perfect sense… sorry I don’t have any sources but you can search the above term and find all the pipe dreams i saw 10 years ago. Oil, gas, etc is just still too profitable.
