We’re getting to the point where even a frequency jammer might not stop an AI piloted drone. Just teach the drone what a ‘rally’ looks like and where the target typically stands, and then launch it. No radio or GPS signals required.

I’m the same, my goal in November is to vote against trump. I would love to be able to vote for a candidate that I think would be a great President, or a good President, or even just not an evil President… but barring a better choice, I’m voting for the Democrat option.

Biden isn’t a good choice, but the team he has put together is doing a good job of running things with or without him and I’d be fine keeping that going for another 4 years - or however long he has left. I’d be happier with a more progressive, younger, sharper candidate, but ultimately my goal for this next election is to vote against trump.

Removing trump and Biden from the list, since one of them will see a second term, of the other 4 only Carter didn’t see a second term. Truman was only elected President once, but he served as President for almost 8 full years. Nixon won reelection, but resigned before his second term was out.

And even if you go as far as saying that 3 of the 4 didn’t serve 2 full terms… I think it’s highly unlikely either of the 2 current candidates will see the 2028 election.

But even then, if every pixel gets marked as ‘created by AI’, it would still be trivial to take real CSAM and run it through an image-to-image generator with denoising turned down to 0.05 and suddenly you have real CSAM that has been marked as ‘legal’ since it is technically AI generated.

Also, keep in mind that there are several open source projects out there where anyone who knows what they are doing could just strip out any protections that might be put in place.

All nations have uncomfortable aspects of their history that they need to come to terms with. It was a dumb thing to say for a President, especially if there’s no proof, but it’s also a dumb thing to get upset over for a Prime Minister when it is a part of their history.

How do you tax assets that aren’t worth anything until sold?

I have to pay property taxes on my home and car each year. These are assets that I’m not selling, yet I’m still being taxed on their value. It’s amazing that they’ve figured out a way to do it for the working class but not for the ruling class.

How would that work then? College professors would be government employees, paid by the government to teach? That’s the current setup for K-12 and I think most people agree that teachers don’t really get paid all that well.

I see nothing wrong with having higher education come with a higher price tag. If schools are charging enough tuition to afford to pay for great instructors then students are going to learn more and will be better off after graduation. There should be safeguards in place so that if your school fails you (or even if you fail your school) it doesn’t ruin your life. But I see no problem with having a requirement that your repayment schedule be based on your annual pay, and if after a set amount of time (10-20 years) you have made regular payments but still owe, then the rest gets forgiven.

We don’t need to get rid of student loans, we need to get rid of interest on student loans. The government should not be making money off of students trying to get an education.

Fuck that… I’m a manager and I’m always creating memes on my phone at work that’s much higher quality than this.

Also, managers also know that office life sucks, we’re just trying to keep the wheels moving and the paychecks coming.
