    Yes, that’s the war I’m talking about.

    Taiwan continues to be controlled by the government of the Republic of China. Mainland China is controlled by the Communist uprising.

    (At least, that’s how the government in Taipei would describe it. The government in Beijing would describe it differently.)

    what you’re saying is not technically accurate. China and Taiwan have NEVER been at war.

    I said mainland China and Taiwan. They are both part of China. They are two different parts of China fighting a civil war for control of the whole of China. (Technically.)

      I understand the distinction between mainland China and Taiwan. Those are not the entities at war. If, by some miracle, the ROC takes over HK or something, it’s still a civil war between the ROC and the communists.

      Also, the capital of the ROC has never been Taipei. It’s Nanjing. It’s just currently controlled by the communists

        I said “the government in Taipei”. They’re in Taipei, even if that’s not their de jure capital.
