Who is your favorite fictional hero or superhero and how would they fare against the gom jabbar?

I’m a big fan of the Norse Gods, and most of them would not do well. They’re always getting tricked and poisoned and so on. But they keep trying anyway, even though they know they’re doomed, and that’s why I love 'em.
