His ā€˜Sleepy Joeā€™ nickname for his rival seems to have come full circle, with social media users now calling Mr Trump ā€˜Sleepy Donā€™

While the rest of the world canā€™t peel their eyes away asĀ Donald Trumpā€™sĀ historic criminal trialĀ gets under way in New York, the former president himself appears to be far less enthralled by the proceedings.

Jury selection got under way on Monday in theĀ first-ever criminal trial of a sitting or former president, as he faces 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in a bid to cover up hush money payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.

But, according to some courtroom reporters, Mr Trump appeared to struggle to keep his eyes open ā€“ and at one point may have even fallen asleep.

ā€œTrump appears to be sleeping. His head keeps dropping down and his mouth goes slack,ā€Ā *New York TimesĀ *reporterĀ Maggie HabermanĀ reported.

The observation quickly inspired a new nickname for the 77-year-old former president: ā€œSleepy Don.ā€

Oh yeah, isnā€™t there an Adderall shortage right now?

The dude probably just isnā€™t cranked up on his normal level of amphetamines.

I bet he keeps falling asleep, gets even fatter, and is even less capable of following his own thoughts as the Adderall drought continues.

What a great time for him to be on criminal trialā€¦

This is pretty funny but realistically, even with the shortage, he is still getting his. I myself have to take it and Iā€™ve had zero issues getting it. He is certainly on the top of the list of those receiving it.

Adderall is being generous, this dude is probably shoveling pills and uppers every morning. You donā€™t just make court appearances and then rally every day of the week at 80 years old without either being in good shape or being on a long list of stimulants.
