The ad was released hours after Trump said that he believes abortion laws should be left to the states, sidestepping the national ban that some of his supporters want.
President Joe Bidenās campaign released its latestĀ abortion ad of the electionĀ hours after formerĀ President Donald Trump saidĀ he believes abortion laws should be left to the states, sidestepping the national ban that some of his supporters want.
The 60-second ad, which first aired Monday on MSNBC, focuses onĀ Amanda Zurawski, a Texas womanĀ who sued the stateĀ after, she said, she almost died from a miscarriage. In the video, Zurawski and her husband, Josh, discuss how they had started buying things for the baby while Amanda was pregnant, including a baby book.
āAt 18 weeks, Amandaās water broke,ā the adās text said. āShe had a miscarriage.ā
As the couple continued to recount memories of the pregnancy, text on the screen read, āBecause Donald Trump killed Roe v. Wade, Amanda was denied standard medical care to prevent infection, an abortion.ā
Doctors were forced to send Amanda home and three days later, Amanda wound up in the ICU with sepsis, according to the ad.
Trump is now saying abortion should be up to the states to decide, but heās only saying that to sway voters in his direction.
āLetting the states decideā is how those of us stuck in deep red states got to where we are now. Itās not good enough. And I hope it doesnāt sway middle-of-the-fence voters in blue states to think he āwonāt be that badā.
It only takes one election cycle, and those states can flip red too.
